Although a lot of job vacancies out there require full qualification, never let this ruin your chances in getting the job that you want.
It is true that finishing the full qualification will certainly make things easier in getting through the first hurdle of getting interviews and then the job that you feel or believe you deserve. However, it is not the only way to get to your destination.
Many people have made it to the top without being chartered. If you are still in the process of clearing your final or some of your papers to be fully qualified, then don’t despair because it is not the only way to be successful.
1. Believe in your ability
2. Gain the right experience and technical skills
3. Be humble and confident
4. Be genuine
5. Apply to many senior jobs as you can
6. Show your commitment to CPD
7. Professional ethics is vital in the profession, in my opinion, so show how you demonstrate that in your work or life.My intention of sharing is to encourage everyone that it is not the end of the world if you have not achieved one of the most coveted titles, ACCA, CIMA or CPA. You can still make it, there are other routes to take.

May 4, 2018 at 1:21 pm #450065Thanks Dave. I have 6 years of Big4 experience and 1 year of professional law firm (finance department) experience and I definitely see your point. Experience is extremely important. I am always surprised about people who just clear all ACCA exams and have zero experience. I am doing both at the same time, i.e. studying and working which is hard but it will pay off eventually. If anything, experience is the most important in my opinion. If you know your stuff, you can get into good jobs though some roles do require the “paper side” of things.
