Hi, Need a fair advice. I’m married, have son of 5 years, pregnant with other baby, have completed two papers of FIA, third one is about to give in few days. Living in joint family where everyone is so supportive with me. My delivery is on 23rd May, 2014, and i am so keen to complete my all six papers from f4 to f9 in 2014, 3 papers in each attempt. I’m a mature student which already completed BS(hons) in computer science ten years back, so absorbing the contents of this degree will be not so difficult as it would be for any beginner. Some of the ppl are discouraging me that this wouldn’t be possible practically for me to deliver the child in May n give the papers in start of June n then get able to learn next subjects with all baby sittings n appear in Dec 2014.
I know that would be so tough, but i’m so determined but i still want to know how much practically this would be possible for me considering the core subjects of Skill Module of ACCA. I dont want that i take hell of pressure on me n stay so occupied with all that in that last days, and there is very less probablity of success practically in my given circumstances. I want to know what approach should i follow where i keep going with good speed n with more chances of success.
I need a fair advice. Completing ACCA papers by 2015 end is my target.January 1, 2014 at 6:43 am #153642Hi Shehla
I am a Mom to 14 months baby and I did two papers in December f5 And f6. From my experience you can do two or three per sitting but the issue with u is that ur due date is near exam date so would suggest you try two or one.January 1, 2014 at 7:02 pm #153651I am now married, have 4 children including a baby that came along near the start of me starting ACCA. I self study, work full time in quite a senior finance role, and my wife works evenings and weekends meaning my spare time is mainly taken up looking after my children.
I am now a finalist, its been a long slog, failed lots of times, passed first time lots of times. I would advise that in your position, 2 papers per sitting is a maximum to attempt if you want to give yourself a chance of passing. I understand you want to get it completed quickly, but its very hard when you fail and have to wait 6 months to reattempt
Also, I have just accepted a role as a financial controller for a multi million pound turnover company, having recently worked in financial management roles. Although the qualifications help career wise, I consider myself proof they are not the be all to a successful career, they are no replacement for quality experience. Also, I’m only 33
January 2, 2014 at 1:42 am #153654Okahi so which two papers combination u think would be easier for me to self-study from video lectures n mocks at home?.
I was thinking to try a combination of f4, f5 n f6. but if i have to pick up two, which two should be my choice considering i dont want to put all tough n calculation based papers in Dec attempt.January 2, 2014 at 1:48 am #153655So do u think a person can successfully clear the ACCA papers with self-study if he has a good video lectures n all online support is available?
I went so smooth with first two papers F1 n F2. I got 79 n 75 percentages, n i had preparation of 100%. Now m good prepared with most of the part of F3 which soon i’m going to clear inshALlah. But i was thinking that for Skill level Modules i would be in need of some institute n teachers. What do u say?January 2, 2014 at 9:03 am #153660Why do you think you need some institute? I passed F5 well and I only used open tuition and a BPP revision kit.
January 2, 2014 at 7:29 pm #153675I’m not going to comment on F5 nor F6 but, given your stated determination and loads of family support, you should be able to take F4 with just the notes, the videos and LOTS of work on the past exam questions
