Hi sir,
The bpp kit says:
Independent NEDS should have no connections with the company other than fees and shareholdings.(they are talking about the NEDS in the remuneration committee)
Wouldnt shareholdings undermine their objectivity?

But don’t forget that it is the shareholders who appoint the executive directors, and the non-execs on the remuneration committee are there to help make sure that the execs are paid a ‘fair’ amount.
