Hi All
First of all, I hope everyone is well and hope you all stay safe at home.
Now with ACCA not running a June exam session, I wanted to get some advice to plan probably for September so that I can plan probably and make the most of it.
I am meant to be doing a course during the weekend in April for FR, how can I best use this study course but still remember the syllabus in time for Sep 20? This is a live online course too.
I was also thinking of studying for a second exam at the same time but I am also waiting for my AA result too?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and more than happy to bounce ideas off one another?
March 29, 2020 at 9:26 pm #566113I suspect good chance your April course will be moved to July or similar. No guarantee but would be odd to me if school insist on proceeding when there’s no June exam any longer.
It does give you the opportunity to do a second subject, be it a repeat or new one if you pass in a few weeks. I’d say take that opportunity only if your other life balances (work, family) allow you to – you’ll still have December exams so no need to rush either. Certainly doing a repeat with a new one is workable – but taking on 2 new ones in a single session is difficult, no matter how long you have to study for them.
I’m waiting on a final result so hope not to have to do any – will have the longer wait to next exam session if so!

Having the extra time to study is a blessing but also a curse. You get more time to study so can take your time and really get to grips with the information and do more questions etc to ensure you get a high mark however may loose motivation to do so over a long period of time. Doing the second course could help keep your motivation as you have more to do so it’s not as repetitive.
Maybe wait and see what your results are, hopefully a pass in which case look at another course.

5 months for one paper is more than enough time

Be positive. you can pass AA for March 🙂
In the worst case scenario it is not a bad idea to repeat AA and a new paper for September. It will be challenging but may be worth it

Hi Everyone
Thank you for all your responses. The course itself is still going ahead but I am doing Monday to Thursday instead of the weekend course.
I have decided to to wait for the results before I start looking at a second subject to do.
In terms of maintaining the knowledge, I am still thinking how I going to remember this information for 5 months? Could a revision course work or should I review questions of a regular basis?

What are all your guys plans?
April 1, 2020 at 8:07 pm #566327I have two exams left to complete – ATX and SBL. I booked my June ATX exam but will need to move it to September, it’s disappointing as I was always hoping to finish in September but understandable given the severity of COVID-19.
I’m now considering taking both ATX and SBL in September…I’m currently studying ATX with BPP and will be done in a few weeks, so I could carry on studying and revising ATX until July, and then start SBL classes and keep up with ATX refresher sessions. I’m waiting for AAA results but feel cautiously optimistic about it, so am thinking if I can balance my time properly I can still take both exams in September and complete ACCA within my expected timeframe.
Is this completely foolish? I’ve never done more than one exam at a time but haven’t struggled with the exams too much so far, and will be taking the same amount of time to study each paper (it’ll just be the joint revision time that brings added pressure).

Hi Claudia
Not having done the professional level yet I can’t comment on the level of work needed. However given that you have five months and tuition booked, I would say as long you keep to a schedule and keep on top of the questions I would say you could smash it 🙂

Thanks for the advice! I’m very tempted to do it – just need to work out how to move my June exam session to September! When I try to amend my booking it doesn’t give me September as an option, but the COVID-19 update said that booked June places will be credited back to our account?
I’m going to wait it out for now, at least until the results come out. Perhaps it’s because of high demand at the moment.

I’m in the a similar situation as yourself except i’m waiting for my SBL results and then considering sitting the 2 exams i have left which are ATX & APM in September. Only problem is i’ve never sat 2 exams before in the same week so if i fail 1 or even 2 it will prolong my ACCA journey at least to next year. That being said i could probably pass both. Still unsure what to do. Hoping for a tasty pass mark for SBL though as i managed to complete the full exam which is a pretty rare occurrence for me
April 12, 2020 at 12:55 pm #567288Same here! I want to write PM and FR in september. My FR weekend class starts this coming Saturday with BPP and I don’t know how I can combine the class for PM too.
I’m just really confused I have never done two classes before. Like how to study for two acca courses while working full time
April 20, 2020 at 4:48 pm #568838who is left with SBR and SBL???
