Hello Kim,
I wanted to clear my confusion regarding the distinction between placement and integration:
Per my understanding, placement is basically introducing illegal funds into the legal economy, whereas integration is when the activities initiated through the illegal funds result in the generation of legal funds,
Is this correct? If it’s possible then can you explain these phenomena through the lens of setting up a cash-intensive business? Meaning is placement setting up a business through illegal funds and then integration being receiving “legit” funds through the sales that business makes?
Looking forward to your response, thanks.
Happy New Year to you! I am not in my office until later next week. In the meantime, please see if this post helps https://opentuition.com/topic/money-laundering-19
