Hi,
I have just finished making notes on my F4, and now started to answer past exam questions,
with regards to the model answers.. will i need to write as much as they have for the same marks?
it seems like a 4 mark question, they require an A4 page, and it just seems a bit too much.
I do enjoy studying law, (however remembering the cases is quite difficult.)
so all i am wondering really is shall i base my answers on the model answers or will i be able to get away with a shorter version of my own answer?
The model answers do tend to be a bit wordy. I think it’s because they try to give you a full understanding of how to answer and also sorta act like a revision for when you’re close to the exam. I think once you can write the main (essential) points which u can pick out from the model answer then you should be ok without going into an A4 paper length answer.
It’s physically IMPOSSIBLE to get anywhere near the length of the revision kit answers within the 18 minutes time allocation. Accept that.
Now, how much can you write in 18 minutes? It’s no good saying “I could write an A4 page” where you for example write 2 or 3 paragraphs. That’s only going to be worth 2 or 3 marks.
What you need to do is plan your 10 separate points ( should take maybe 5 minutes ) and then in 13 minutes write out those 10 separate points. 10 points in 13 minutes? That MUST mean short paragraphs
