hi
i came across this question in acca specimen exam, my answer for this question is d but when i checked the answers it showed c. can you explain why the answer is c instead of d.Which of the following would not be expected to appear in an organisations mission statement
A) the organisations value and beliefs
B) the product or services offered by the organisation
C) qauntified short term targets the organisation seeks to achieve
D) the organisations major stakeholdersAugust 1, 2020 at 4:35 pm #578918Mission statements usually state the long-term strategy of the company. They will not state short-term targets.
Do watch my free lecture covering this – the lectures are a complete free course for Paper MA and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
August 1, 2020 at 5:08 pm #578922but in my textbook it is said that
“mission statement will have the following characterstics:”
one of the characteristic is-
“used to formulate goal statements, objectives and short term targets”
is the textbook wrong?August 1, 2020 at 5:11 pm #578923it also had one more characteristic which said
“open ended (not stated in QUANTIFIABLE terms)”
could this be the reason why the answer is c (QUANTIFIED short term targets the organisation seeks to achieve)August 1, 2020 at 5:49 pm #578930The mission statement is certainly used to formulate goals etc., but that it not because they are included in the mission statement – they are never included in the mission statement.
Again, I suggest you watch my free lectures.
If you are watching the lectures you do not really need the Study Text. The book that is essential (however you choose to study) is the Revision Kit, because that is full of exam standard questions to practice, and practice is vital to passing the exam.
