Sir, what’s the mark allocation that you recommended?
Let say technical mark is 10 and professional skill mark is 4 , total both is 14 marks. How should we allocated it for answering?
1.Technical mark only (10 / 2) = 5 para or
2. TOTAL Technical mark + Professional Skill mark (14 / 2) = 7 parapls kindly help.. 😀
November 15, 2020 at 2:32 pm #595107You can’t really separate out your demonstration of professional skills from technical skills. For example, if the professional skills marks were for demonstrating skepticism you will not have a section in your answer headed up ‘skepticism’. Think of the professional skills identification as giving you a clue about how to ‘angle’ your answer and its tone eg towards commercial considerations/acumen, persuasiveness etc.
Therefore add together the two sections of marks – your example above = 14. 2 marks is a reasonable budget per point you want to make and I suggest 0.5 marks for identifying a relevant point and 1.5 for explaining, developing it and stating its importance and consequences.
November 15, 2020 at 2:50 pm #595108Oh i see. So here, the option 2 should be chosen, which is 7 para?
For as long as i know, i know that professional skills is given based on the quality and certain scope that have to be satisfied (which is for examiner to decide the quality of our answer and give the mark )
i’m just confused on how many para to write based on the marks allocation given, so that i dont over-write/under-write, hence can allocate enough time to answer other part of question.

You would normally give each point you want to make its own paragraph.
