At other previous exam sessions, examiners reports comes out before the result release date. Could the pandemic be the reason for the delay this time around?

Maybe they have been furlough and there is no one there to write the report? Looked at previous reports they seem to be generic

My thought as well. But let’s hope this doesn’t affect the release of the result in any way.

It seemed generic in terms of examiners expectations but I find it somewhat tough to deduce my likely performance based on the questions tested the last sitting.

Yea I found it similar in AAA the mark scheme in previous years have the same answer for standard 10 marks on a certain issue yet in the report it says students that recite past answers do not pass this section. Even though it is in the mark scheme seems hard to call

    Yes you are right..
Its like when the day is approaching I just hope for 50.. and if I don’t make it the sinking feeling.. of starting it again.. too anxious.. I have been trying to distract myself by watching stranger things on Netflix.. its very interesting ..I feel we need to find something to keep ourselves busy like a tv show.. or a book or something.. so that time will pass..

Yes, no good for us waiting for results but I guess they will he used by students sitting further exams.

I’ve been playing old pc games constantly and it seems to be working making the day go quicker and taking my mind off it. Getting that jolt in my stomach everytime I think about it and as others have said. I always doubt more by the time the results are coming out.

That is what I already advised – examiners’ reports are typically published AFTER results are released at the same time as the answers – and not necessarily all on the same date – I am sometimes reminding ACCA weeks after results that some examiner’s reports have still to be published. The principal purpose of the examiner’s report is to provide guidance to candidates (whether first time or resit) and their tutors to help them prepare – for resits it will help them reflect on where they went wrong. These reports are in no way meant to be predictive and anyone who has suggested otherwise is misleading other readers of this thread by creating false expectations.

I’m a finalist, waiting for AAA UK and ATX. Feeling confident on AAA, but I think it is the most deceiving paper looking at the past correlation between how people felt they did and how they actually did. I found it fair, but I was well prepared for the paper having just sat and passed SBR in the previous sitting. I really enjoy the technical side of it so was in my element.

Advanced Tax, whilst sitting it and when I came out I felt absolutely mortified. I was the only person who sat in where I am. I definitely felt like I’d failed when I came out but looking on the forum other people said the same as me which has made me feel slightly more confident. Everything I wanted to say, the examiner has said not to consider so I didn’t know what to write. Did anyone else sit ATX UK and feel the same? I’ll be really upset if I fail ATX regardless of my expectation because of the time I’ll have to wait to re-sit. I was warned against taking the paper and I may have been stupid not to listen.

Good luck everyone, and stay safe!

This is such a depressing time for all of us, the pendamic is getting worst and feelings are not good, will be very tough time for those who fail as it will be very demotivating. I wish we all get happiness tomorrow in this tough time..

    Hey guys..
Since June exam session is cancelled.. for september session …how are you all planning out your studies.. are you taking like more than one paper.. there is like 4.5 months of time for the September session..I have always struggled balancing more than one paper at a time.. I wanted to hear from others how they manage 2 and 3 papers at a time..

I know this is a March exam results count down and I’m also nervous for my results but looking ahead can people who have already sat for exams FM and FR help me with this.

Would you recommend me sitting for those 2 exams in the September sitting. I’m working full time and used to sitting 1 exam per session what would you recommend. It’s really tempting to take 2 exams but I also feel like it might be a bait?

Same here! I was planning to sit FR in March then FM in september. Now i will be sitting both. I think the best is to plan your study accordingly and study both at the same time up till september but honestly I don’t know because it would be my first time trying this approach.
I just know i will take the two papers in Sept.
what do you plan on doing?

I’m awaiting SBL results this is my final paper and hoping desperately for a pass. The exam was terrible I studied the syllabus well I thought but none of what I studied came up! It was all very general. I believe if you have good business and commercial acumen you could have passed the exam without studying the actual syllabus. I found the questions so weird!

Totally agree to this! Such a weird paper, studying so much didn’t help either (there was no model to be used). Hopefully whatever we have written gets us 50 ? and tomorrow we finish Acca ??

Yes – “member” in the context of this survey includes student members (at the beginning of the survey you get to select what type of employment you are in, if any, and whether you are part-qualified).
