Hello and Welcome all
It has been difficulty time with Covid19 for all of us, some more than others, and it doesn’t show any sign of slowing down soon.I hope you are all in good health and managing the situation.
Onto ACCA
I am first time finalist , awaiting SBL result and to say I am nervous would be such understatement.
It feels like a year ago since I did sbl on march 3 2020 and we are still in the same month. And the lockdown made things even slower .I don’t know what to expect from the SBL exam. The exam was so general that you cannot relate to any syllabus or text and my answers were just common sense. No models and no structure, just my own rambling. I did attempt all questions though with the best I could offer so there is hope.
Bring your experiences guys . Where are the veteran finalists? I remember a guy called chalbuala or Nasi something like that that attempted APM10 times and failed every single time. He passed December last year on 11th attempt.the persistent to overcome such adversity was inspirational and I was so happy for him to finally to put it aside.

March 27, 2020 at 11:14 am #565986Hello
I wish you all the best for results day. I also feel like i sat the exam last year
I am an ACCA finalist as well awaiting the result for APM too. it is my second attempt. Overall the exam was quite fair. i studied so hard the difficult chapters which did not come up. the exam did not have the solution in the answer so if felt like SBL imo.So hopefully i pass. you never know with these exams. all i want is 50!!
With the ACCA cancelling June exams I would have to wait till September to repeat. It is sad as more people sit the exams in June. sometimes an exam is a difference between a raise, promotion or new job etc. what can you do? health and safety first
I did read about Naz experience with sitting that paper 11 times. i saw this after i picked APM and then i thought i picked the wrong paper!!
If I fail i do not know if i should switch papers. however i took me 3 times to pass AAA. Only passed it Dec 19. i actually gave up and others encourage me to switch paper. so i just perservered and tried again. so persistence does work
I think in my opinion it is important to attempt an exam every session now, the world is changing so much. I almost did not sit the exam in March due to time pressure. if i pass it would be so worth!
March 27, 2020 at 12:19 pm #565988I hope you make it through this time. To wait for another 6 months will be agonizing specially for those who have been finalist before this session.
People I are different but I feel APM should be the last paper to try. Almost all other exams seem feel less complex or atleast have better pass rate. For exam, ATX has much higher pass rate compared to APM. For myself I never considered APM as an option. I had finance background so I did AFM and passed first attempt and then I tried AAA and felt so bad about chances of pass after the exam but luckily I passed.
So here I am stuck with SBL with no choice of doing another paperMarch 27, 2020 at 5:56 pm #566001I advise you to keep your hopes high because you can pass SBL with common sense answers without referring to a module, but once you relate your answers to the scenario, you will make. So keep finger crossed!. I passed SBL last sitting when I left 20 marks out with a good grade.
March 27, 2020 at 7:06 pm #566003That’s encouraging. Thanks
March 28, 2020 at 6:53 am #566018Did any finalist receive such massage from ACCA.
Hello, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, please take a few minutes to answer a quick survey regarding exam your preparation here: https://bit.ly/2WPIrHRAm confuse
March 28, 2020 at 8:42 am #566030This is just ACCA obtaining information about students’ preparation for input in their decision-making about the June exams – there would have been no time to filter out any categories of students so it will have gone to everyone on the register in any specific region.
Such generic communications do NOT and cannot have anything to do with results.
March 28, 2020 at 2:12 pm #566046True. Thanks for the clarification
March 28, 2020 at 3:50 pm #566051thanks for the information

Hello Mate, APM is my last paper too. I have attempted this paper 3 times. I hope I get lucky this time. APM was by far my most complex paper I ever had.
March 29, 2020 at 9:42 pm #566115Also waiting on a final result – APM. Very lucky I am as I very nearly waited to do Tax in June instead which of course is no more now! I changed my mind on which subject a hundred times, but got myself together to do APM, and thankful I did.
Quietly confident of passing too.. though I know APM can and does surprise people in a bad way. Plus CBE was strange – I’d imagine I have 500 spelling mistakes, just hope not so bad that answers are not understandable. I took platinum tuition which helped hugely in such a jargon-full subject. I strongly recommend anyone considering APM to do likewise – it’s not like a quantitative subject where you can self-correct answers and learn mistakes, it’s more a general approach, exam technique and time management test.
Looking forward to result but given the current situ, it certainly won’t be the elation I had expected should I pull it off. I’m sure it will be the same for all of us – some relief and short joy, before the return of the present stresses in this new world! We have all found things in a new perspective recently, and exam success will be another item on that list. But wishing everyone the best to have some welcome good news in these trying times 🙂
March 30, 2020 at 8:58 am #566140Wow quite a few of us here waiting for APM. Hopefully we all pass and it will definitely be the highlight of this challenging year

March 30, 2020 at 6:20 pm #566169Its amazing seeing so many people did APM in March.
This was my second last paper of ACCA, and if I clear it in March than I will only be left with SBL, my final paper. Was planning on attempting in June but not anymore.
APM went well, however like all of my strategic professional paper I couldn’t attempt it 100%, with few marks left here and there. However, the portion I did complete did well. It really wasn’t unexpected paper, just the JIT and TQM question was a bit of difficult to handle.
Good Luck guys.
April 1, 2020 at 12:22 am #566276I’m a finalist too. Waiting on SBR. I really hope I’ve done enough but will have lost silly marks, by missing out silly things ( exam pressure) so just hoping it doesn’t swing the balance.
I was excited about the prospect of being out with friends and “hopefully” celebrating when the results came out, rather than the usual sitting home alone stressing. I thought it would be such a nice way to receive my final results. Alas. I would guess now I’ll be home alone when the time comes
I always start doubting myself more the closer we get to results day and I’m feeling the pressure more now, as of course we can’t resit in June. So means I wouldn’t be able to qualify until Atleast October!! So let’s hope I’ve done it and finished my acca student journey!
Good luck to everyone waiting for results!
April 1, 2020 at 11:06 am #566298Guys, does anyone know when the examiner’s report will be out? Is it this week or the the results week?
April 1, 2020 at 11:28 am #566300Hi All,
I am finalist too with over 7 years of industry experience. Its too hard to manage studies with full time employment. Now a days, just looking for hints on internet if ACCA considers the industry experience and PER before finalizing the results. ? ?
I understand I am just trying to make myself satisfied until the release of result.?
However, I started ACCA years ago with joining of industry right after passing first four exams. I am totally broken and begging for mercy.

April 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm #566306Hi arfan54,
I have just completed my PER and now waiting for results… keeping fingers crossed….all the best
April 1, 2020 at 1:10 pm #566307As in do ACCA consider each students work experience while correcting their exam papers? No definitely not – would make the exam marking highly subjective and lacking any rigor or quality standards! For purpose of exams, all students are just a number (student number) on a page. Opportunities people get for work experience are very varying and unequal worldwide – exams attempt to counter this by trying to give everyone a level playing field (in so much as anything is “level”). We all have 3+ hours in a room to show what we can do.
Best of luck for next week 🙂

April 1, 2020 at 7:16 pm #566325Waiting for APM, was hoping to sit my last exam SBL in June but it’ll now be September. I’m quietly confident about APM but then with that pass rate maybe I just totally missed the boat
