    Hi,

I believe you are doing well.

I am currently running financial analytics for real companies and came across the fillings of the information a bit different from other markets E.g. US (10-K). Companies over here are releasing management discussion and analysis (MD&A) report separately from financial report that contain audited financial statements. Given that this information is prepared to give the true representation of the business to the investors, I feel the whole report put together will be much nicer.

My question is, what is the guidance from IFRS regarding the filling of this report?

    Thanks.

Hello! Just so you know, we have a separate members forum https://opentuition.com/forum/qualified-members-forum – I “look after” this forum too, so if you post there I will reply.

For IFRS it is Practice Statement 1: Management Comment https://www.ifrs.org/issued-standards/list-of-standards/management-commentary-practice-statement.html/content/dam/ifrs/publications/html-standards/english/2024/issued/ps1/#about As a Practice Statement, it is voluntary, not mandatory.

The management commentary is also on the work plan https://www.ifrs.org/projects/work-plan/management-commentary/#current-stage So although PS 1 is not available without a subscription, anyone can currently download the Exposure Draft, which will give you some idea https://www.ifrs.org/content/dam/ifrs/project/management-commentary/ed-2021-6-management-commentary.pdf

Amazing. Thanks for the answer and for sharing the link to qualified members forum. I didn’t know there is one.

Will see you there with questions from practical world.
