10y ago#2If you have trouble getting the right proportions to use, base your input on 100. So:
Input - Lost = Output
100 - 18 = 82
The question gives you
Input - Lost = Output
? - ? = 2,000
So just use the model proportions (82:100) to move from output to input.
Input = 2000 x 100/82 = 2,439
You can check: If 2,439 is input, 18% is lost = 439, so 2,000 is good output.
