    Hello Sir,
    Hope you are keeping well!
    I have the below question :
    The times taken to produce each of the first four batches of a new
    product were as follows:
    Batch number Time taken
    1 100 minutes
    2 70 minutes
    3 62 minutes
    4 57 minutes
    Based upon the above data, the rate of learning was closest to?
    My question : as per answer it is 85% but I am not really sure how.. As per my understanding we should be doing like this :
    Units Total time taken Average time
    1 100 100
    2 70 100*r
    4 57 100*r2
    so,
    57=4*100*r2
    r=38%
    Please correct me .

    The average time per batch if they make 4 batches is (100 + 70 + 62 + 57) / 4 = 72.25 minutes

    Therefore 100 x r^2 = 72.25

    r^2 = 0.7225

    r = square root of 72.25 = 0.85 or 85%

    I do suggest that you watch my free lectures on this.
