A manufacturing company wants to measure the learning rate that it has achieved with the manufacture of a new product item. The first item produced took 6 hours to make and the average time for the first 16 units was 3.3 hours. What has been the learning rate for this product?
( a bpp sec a question)
Ans : 86%.
Pls help sir.
The fourth root of (3.3/6) = 0.86 (86%).
It is using the doubling rule, and 16 is doubling 4 times.
(If you watch the free lecture on learning curves then there is a full explanation of the doubling rule.)
