Hi,
I failed P7 this attempt, got 48% 🙁 I studied using Kaplan 2012 study text. I want to ask whether is it worth getting new study text for the Dec 14 session for possible changes to syllabus or it is fine if I study using the old study text?August 26, 2014 at 7:13 pm #192436My advice:
Keep your Kaplan study text and revision kit
Buy BPP study text and revision kit
Use them side by side, using BPP as the lead text.
Do the questions at the end of each chapter(BPP)
Do the test your understanding questions (KAPLAN)
Do as many questions in the revision kits(BPP/KAPLAN)
I used this strategy and it worked for me. ie well over 60 percent
Best of luck
September 1, 2014 at 2:41 pm #193210I myself was wondering whether I needed to buy a new BPP text for the Dec 2014 session given the changes to the syllabus. I have the text for the June 2014 session but I failed my 1st attempt at P7 at the last exam session.
September 1, 2014 at 3:40 pm #193222Or …. download the past exam questions since December 2007 and set yourself the task of completing an exam, under timed exam conditions, every week.
Ideally, you will get someone to appraise critically (and hopefully constructively) your performance
Personally I wouldn’t invest in buying a second version of the syllabus and that’s all a study text is. What can BPP say that’s different than what Kaplan or Beckers say (or indeed any other of the non-approved all-singing all-dancing gold award winning approved material providers)
Get stuck in to practising past exam questions and pay particular attention to reading the requirements carefully paying great attention to the subtle variations in the requirement verbs
