It must be a living nightmare to mark an interpretation answer! There are so many potentially valid points that a marker really must be on the ball when tackling a student’s answer

So long as your interpretation point is arguably valid, then you should score. Don’t forget, this is YOUR interpretation and may be quite diverse from someone else’s interpretation.

But that’s not to say that either is right or wrong – it’s just two different people with two different interpretations

Now, the real crunch! Stop worrying! There’s absolutely no point. Enjoy your Summer. Relax. Chill. There’s nothing that you can do that will change matters so stop fretting about something that you cannot change!

Did you follow that first test match between England and Sri Lanka? Now that was an exciting finish with Sri Lanka hanging on for a draw. (We’ll not mention the England performance against Italy – just hope that the result is better against Uruguay tomorrow!)

No, where I am now living it’s difficult to get mainstream television. I was following the Durham / Lancashire cricket on the bbc internet and Jos Buttler nearly did yet another nearly rescue act but ran out of partners.

Despite a streak of realism and desperation and hopeless optimism, I’m still sitting here hoping for an England win against Uruguay. But I read today that, even if they lose, they could still go through if they beat Costa Rica and Italy beat both Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Typical – success dependent upon others

It’s just like exam success – totally now dependent upon the marker!
