Very very difficult exam. Would be happy to scrape a 50 on this one
June 5, 2024 at 5:42 pm #706748Does anybody remember what EVA they got and how did you tackle the 9% price increase?
June 5, 2024 at 5:56 pm #706751I just recalculate Eva at a 6% increase and no increase
June 5, 2024 at 5:58 pm #706752I panicked a bit with EVA, one of my calculations came to 0, so I’m hoping that’s right for the regulator impacts and my initial EVA calc..
June 5, 2024 at 6:21 pm #706753Did not enjoy that exam.
Don’t think any of the actual scenarios or questions were particularly hard in themselves but I didn’t have enough time.
Miserable at the prospect of sitting it again.
June 5, 2024 at 6:24 pm #706754What did everyone right for the NFPIs I really struggled to get 16 marks worth of points ?
I also messed up on the EVA calc by adding back interest
Just hope I’ve somehow got 50June 5, 2024 at 6:34 pm #706756Yeah was tough for 16 marks, I just wrote about the subjectivity of surveys and samples etc
The indicators on economy and efficiency were a bit of a nightmare
June 5, 2024 at 7:50 pm #706762Q1. Was do able but spend too much time on it.
Q 2. Just rush thru and mess it up..hoping for 13mrks at least.Q3. I so messed up the EVA question, that i am disappointed with myself. If i get 5 marks its plenty
So a pass in apm not looking good for me…. fed up with ACCA.
June 5, 2024 at 8:04 pm #706768I had NFPI, EVA and Performance Pyramid.
Hoping to pass section A, but I struggled the most here. I didn’t really have enough points for each question.
I recalculated EVA at 6% and 10% inflation increases. I think my initial EVA calculation got me 46 million? On the whole, this was a great question.
Performance pyramid was fine. My points to question (b) were okay if a little weak.
Would be keen to hear what people put for Section A questions
June 5, 2024 at 8:06 pm #706769I got close to 0 when I applied 10% inflation so could be right depending on the adjustment you made
June 5, 2024 at 8:08 pm #706770I think 46m with the basic calc. Does that sound about right? I didn’t do any calculations with a price increase, I only did inflation increases with consistent prices.
June 5, 2024 at 8:35 pm #706778Can anyone remember the questions for section A of the 2nd APM paper (NFPI). I think I might have missed a question due to rushing. First was NFPIs which was 16 marks, second question was VFM and third was ZBB vs Incremental. Was there anything else, as I’m trying to do the maths of how much marks I dropped ha
Thanks for any help in advance!
June 5, 2024 at 8:48 pm #706779First question was NFPIS- 16 marks
value for money – 9 marks
ZBB- 15 marksJune 6, 2024 at 1:05 am #706795I had
1. BSC, internal processes, ERP
2. Transfer pricing (market based), divisions
3. ABC/ABMJune 6, 2024 at 3:56 am #706797I booked an APM exam remote session. I prepared everything and sat at my desk. However, when I tried to launch the exam 30 minutes before the scheduled time, the Pearson VUE exam just did not start. I tried everything but had no luck. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
June 6, 2024 at 8:13 am #706817What was everyone’s general response to the Performance Pyramid question? Bit of an oversight on my part in focusing my study time on the BBM and BSC so had a bit of a nightmare with this one!!
June 6, 2024 at 8:28 am #706820Complete disaster, I am fed up with ACCA.
June 6, 2024 at 2:27 pm #706836i feel you. i had this feeling in march when i failed APM for the 8th time. APM was my last exam for passing my qualifications. I was so fed up with APM and ACCA. Because i find that ACCA should recognize if a student has one paper last but still keeps failing. Do something about it. reach out too the student and find alternative methods for help. but noo they keep taking your money for the exams and keep telling you they have a lot of study material and study resources that can help. So i made a drastic decision and decided to switch to ATX. I made the exam yesterday and i will tell you i have no regrets for switching. Maybe you should take a step back and consider switching to an other paper.
June 6, 2024 at 8:30 pm #706862I had the same issue with AA, then it turned out to be for some other students as well, so they refunded me and i had to re-sit
June 7, 2024 at 2:46 pm #706925I got
Section A
1. 50mk Report – Balance Score Card , define its benefits in a note, assess feedback of the managers (found this hard), kpis on internal processes of a manufacturer in regards to late delivery and incorrect quantity received by stores, benefits of ERP with the scenarios they laid out.Section B
2. ABB/ABC (super hard) , and finally which items to discontinue.3. Disadvantage of transfer pricing based on market price. And main question- planning vs operational variance, evaluate whether the Divisional Manager should get a bonus.
This was a hard exam (I hate ABC). I do wish I pass. Let’s hope. (I studied from another place, but love to revisit opentuitions now and then).
All the best everyone…
June 7, 2024 at 9:14 pm #706955Section A
16 marker on NFPIs for a local government department for local parks. Weaknesses of survey feedback.
Economy and efficiency part of VFM. Think this was 9 marks.
15 marker on ZBB, if it is appropriate for dept to use and ZBB vs incremental.June 7, 2024 at 9:16 pm #706956Section B
13 marker onnEVA calc and some strange question on regulators and how inflation and putting prices up by a set % affected the EVA. (I think, anyway!)7 marker on EVA vs ROCE
June 7, 2024 at 9:18 pm #706957Section C
14 marker on evaluate current dashboard and perf pyramid6 marker on Myopia and Gaming, if there was evidence of it and a suggestion of how to resolve
June 23, 2024 at 12:11 pm #707551I found the overall exam quite normal with few parts challenging:
1) BSC- benefits, assessment of implementation, Internal processes – ERP systems
2) Building Block model – service industry reward system
3) EVA – ROCE Vs EVAHoping to pass this attempt, by will of God.
