It was okay but challenging. linear programming messed me up big time in sec c. I had prep intensively for variance however none came up.
MMohammed4y ago#2
Anyone who got the liner programming question, was anyone able to solve it?
MMohammed4y ago#3
what was the linear programming question?
MMonikaSupporter4y ago#4
I did not have any linear programming in sec c ... are there different versions of the PM exam?
MMohammed4y ago#5
I had stuff on production capacity and determining whether it was spare capacity or not
Aabdirahman4y ago#6
In Section C, i had an incremental and zero-based budgeting question and a performance measurement question using the building block model. On average, the exam was OK and also challenging. I wish all the best results.
HHermela4y ago#7
Oooo shortage of time!!!! I didnt do all section b question. But the exam was simple except its time consuming
JJulia4y ago#8
I feel like all the revision kit prep I did only helped with SOME of the paper, definitely got thrown off abit by the linear programming question and the weekly profit for transfer pricing one
JJeberson4y ago#9
I had the same question. Incremental Budgeting, Zero based Budgeting and Building block with performance measures. I hope you and all the other students did well in the exam, all the best for all students...!!!
NNyasha4y ago#10
That limiting factor question pluse linear programming, was something I was not prepared for. Wondering how you guys did it
DD'andre4y ago#11
It was a disaster of an exam. Also what throughput did you guys get for section B? And for the learning curve question where they asked for the budgeted time for the 8 units?
JJina4y ago#12
The 6 marker on calculating and discussing slack value threw me off. Barely wrote anything for that question. Wasnt a fan of the linear programming q but got as much in as i could targeting the easier marks. Really enjoyed the section c question on transfer pricing, lecture stuck well with me on that one! Hope everyone's relaxing now and waiting for results!
JJina4y ago#13
Believe am slot and pm slot get different questions

*Sec C* A) DRAWBACKS of incremental budgeting and BENEFITS of ZBB (Theoretical) along with little calculations. B) Building Block (Performance Measurement) Overall the exam was OK & do appreciate that probably 60% exam was THEORETICAL as compared to the CALCULATIVE part. In addition, OpenTuition has been quite a handful platform and I appreciate Mr. Moffat's efforts. Hoping for better results, GOODLUCK people! Much Obliged!

Brother, I got the same section C question!! The problem was the Case was so big I couldn't relate the answers with the case, & What calculations did you do with Other Measures without Financial?? I wanted to know is there any marks for general advantages & disadvantages like discussion of Zero based budgeting, incremental budgeting, cause i didn't have the time to read & relate with the case !!

Brother, I got the same section C question!! The problem was the Case was so big I couldn’t relate the answers with the case, if I'd given time in reading the whole case, it would have taken me 30 minutes. & What calculations did you do with Other Measures without Financial?? I wanted to know is there any marks for general advantages & disadvantages like discussion of Zero based budgeting, incremental budgeting, cause i didn’t have the time to read & relate with the case !!

I also got the incremental and ZBB with their benefits and drawbacks with CALCULATIONS CAN SOMEONE tell me is there any question with these 2 topics which asks discussion with calculations because I didn't come across any question like that man , how am I supposed to compare these 2 with calculations......
NNikita4y ago#18
Linear programming questions were a little difficult. Does anyone remember any section A or B questions those who got drawbacks of incremental budgeting and benefits of ZBB in their paper
AAksh4y ago#19
I got a shutdown decision and ROI/RI in Section C - overall an okay paper, but still challenging :( also it was the first time I saw a question about MIS and EIS in Section C - threw me off a little, but i managed to write a little haha.
Ffarnaz4y ago#20
Exam was not fear ant not all the syllabus were covered fairly Variences in section B was difficult, target costing is mot a area which should have 5 question alone . The section C balance score had lots of information . Exam is only 3 hours and not all have a time to cover these huged of information
PPoo4y ago#21
Could you please elaborate what was asked in linear programing and limiting factor
NNisha4y ago#22
Awful exam… Section B included questions in regards to pricing and coefficients, some TPAR. The variance is section B we’re fairly difficult. My section C was about limiting factors linear programming, calculating the shortages of machine time and optimum production plan. Theory questions about slack and some constraints etc. The transfer pricing/ profit statement threw me off completely… yes we all have different section C dependant if it’s your first PM exam or second one. Also do we have different questions based on if you do it in the morning or afternoon?
DD'andre4y ago#23
What did you get for the TAR in section 2? I randomly chose 1.40. Honestly that paper was complete madness
DD'andre4y ago#24
Also for the limiting factors question how did u find the optimum production plan etc
DDoleswaree4y ago#25
same here, got the same question SEC C was ok but SEC B was a bit hard , especially those target and Variances question.
RRashad4y ago#26
very hard exam because it took a huge amount of time by solving linear programming and 20 point questions
AAbbos4y ago#27
Same here. Section C was Ok but section B questions were a bit difficult.
AAbbos4y ago#28
Well, part (a) of the question actually included some budget calculations for 20x9 as far as I remember and the scenario was talking about internet ads getting popular. However, if you looked at budet (which you were supposed to do) it focused more on TV and Newspaper ads, rather than internet. That's the main drawback of incremental budgeting as it just continues previous year's budget without considering big changes. ZBB however is better at it cause it starts from scratch. The whole point of the question was to work through each section one by one. It wasn't too difficult.
((deleted)4y ago#29
I assume we got different papers as I can’t remember seeing a linear programming question ?
Aanniebabe4y ago#30
I got the linear programming question - didnt have a clue what to do. Also got transfer pricing, there was a question in section B about candles - was clueless there too. looking like a resit, not happy.
