I mean if you register for exams but don’t show up at all. Is that considered an attempt? Isn’t attempt “making an effort” and absence is not an “attempt”? Thanks in advance

January 10, 2015 at 11:46 am #222243If you do not turn up it is not recorded as an attempt – you are just recorded as having been absent. (But they do not refund your payment)
January 10, 2015 at 1:16 pm #222249I know about the no refund policy. Just wasn’t sure if they recorded it as an attempt or not. Thank you!
January 10, 2015 at 6:39 pm #222274What difference would it make if your absent or if you fail?
It’s not like it will say anywhere how many attempts you did to clear a certain paper or ACCA.Correct me if I’m wrong.
January 10, 2015 at 10:16 pm #222278As far as I am aware,it just says to be attempted on status report he you have not passed an exam regardless of whether you have entered an exam and failed or entered an exam and not shown up for the exam.
January 26, 2015 at 9:59 am #223769The only reason I asked is here in Pakistan, top firms recruit only on the basis of number of attempts. If you fail an attempt, the odds are stacked against you.

Yes it may or may not increase # of attempts for your full ACCA and point that you’ve not completed ACCA papers in one attempt.
January 27, 2015 at 11:28 am #223935are you sure?
January 27, 2015 at 11:37 am #223937Yes, go ahead check your status report on myacca portal, to see what we mean.
January 27, 2015 at 11:41 am #223938Yes but they can probably verify from ACCA or something?

Yes but they can probably verify from ACCA or something?I don’t think any employer has the time to verify these things and they don’t really care if you re-sat an exam. As long as you meet their other requirements, such as 4-5 attempts for all ACCA papers, retakes won’t matter to them.
Are you a finalist???
January 27, 2015 at 7:47 pm #224002I can tell you that no where on the exam status sheet does it say how many times you have attempted the paper.
I know this as I failed F7 and it does not say that I had failed, after I had the pass mark at the next attempt. - AuthorPosts
