General ACCAIs Acca Level a Diploma or Degree

They do On completion of F1-F3 you get a Diploma in Accounting & Business. On completion of F4-F9 you get an Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business upon passing Professional Ethics Module. At this point you can write your thesis and get a BSc Hons Degree from OB if you are opted into the scheme. On completion of Professionals you get an Affiliate Certificate. ps: Its not a technical problem. :)

I do not think that's correct oogabooga. You can't write in your CV that you have Diploma in Accounting & Busines just because you passed F1-F3 Have you found this on ACCA website?

Yes its on the website, it also requires successful completion of Foundation in Professionalism Module(forgot to mention earlier) and then you can request a certificate. Students like myself who got full exemption from these 3 papers are not eligible.

Oogabooga is absolutely correct. It's well documented and I'm surprised if any current ACCA students don't know about these interim qualifications. My Diploma is shown with my other ACCA certificates in MyAcca.

I guess it depends on individual Countries. In the UK, passing all F papers is equivalent to an Undergraduate Degree. Passing all papers is equivalent to a Masters Degree. So it's really down to how the qualification is recognised by individual Countries. This isn't confined to Accounting. For example, fully qualified nurses in one Country, may not be considered fully qualified in the UK because their qualifications aren't fully recognised here.

Can I have the link to the website please? Soooo... really you can't ask for any certificate after f1-f3 exams until you pass all professional modules. That's tricky! I wasn't that wrong. You can't show any diplom/certificate after passing f1-f3 and really if you can't show the prove you should not put this on your CV. nps1976 don't be sp suprised! I've been exempt from F1-F3 as I already have a University degree so obviously won't see any diploma/certificate on my account. And as Fidget stated it can depend on country you study in.

Is has changed now: Passing F1 - F3 gets you a Diploma in Accounting & Business (I don't know if there was an equivalent certificate before this change). Going on to pass F4 - F9 gets you an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business. Before that you just got a certificate of achievement confirming that you'd completed the Foundation level, and it just detailed the exams and whether you passed them or was exempt from them. Going on to pass the P papers still gets you the same affiliate status. The diploma came into being from Dec 2011 onwards. It appears though. that's there's conditions on them. For F1 - F3, you need have taken the ACCA exams rather been exempt from them, to qualifiy for it. For F4 - F9, you need have taken at least two of the ACCA exams rather than have exemptions. Anyone who completed F1-F3, or even F1 - F9 before Dec 2011 is not eligible regardless of whether or not they took the exams or had any exemptions. It's all a bit messy really.

Hi does anyone know if having the advanced diploma in accounting certificate mean that you are a part qualified accountant?

I have started my CAT along time ago, i am just trying to rap it up now with the fia fma paper. I want to stop at the masters level. are you saying i have to complete F4-F9 and then i have to write a thesis, before i will be qualified? Wow . How long does that thesis take, just want an idea.

ACCA is highly regarded in the accounting world but this doesn't make a whole lot of sense no matter what is on the website. I wonder if other tertiary level institutions accept this? ACCA is supposed to be a "professional" qualification. Reading the website they use words like: "equivalent to..." not "is". Furthermore, in addition to writing a paper (did not specify a topic), plus another module, a certain University will "award" you a BSc (not a MSc). So you get an ACCA Certificate + a degree? I would say that's a steal of a deal! When I was doing my MSc degree, the head of department said I couldn't use courses from a Post graduate professional certificate (once awarded) to attain another qualification. ACCA should clarify this.

@Slir ACCA and Oxford Brookes University have entered into a partnership which allows ACCA students who have completed up to F9 (with caveats) to complete the B.Sc. in Applied Accounting offered by Oxford Brookes University. I don't see where ACCA needs to clarify this further. As for the other comments, the awards are correct F1-F3 plus Professionalism Module = Diploma in Accounting and Business F4-F9 plus Professionalism Module = Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business Kudos to @fidget, you are quite correct. Tell me .... which one has got more value acca or bechelor of commerce degree

So if you apply for a job, as an ACCA member can you say your highest level of education is Masters level (if you don't actually have any other Masters degree) - for example in the USA?

I have passed ACCA F1 - F4 but my students account has been suspended due to non-payment of fees. I want to write the profession ethics in other to get the certificate in Accounting & Business. Having obtained a diploma in computer science and an introductory certificate in Financial and mangement accounting FA1 & MA1, is it advisable to start ACCA with the diploma i.e F1- F3 or FMA, FFA and FAB? I need a qualified accountant or an experienced accounting student to please advise on this. Thank you all.
