Well, let this be a lesson for you guys. There were so many bad and depressing comments after the exam - including some very disturbingly malicious ones aimed at the examiner - that you should, many of you, be sending apologies to the F5 examiner. The lesson to learn is that, no matter what your experiences may have been in the past when trying to predict exam results, you can NEVER predict the result from an ACCA exam. Until you appreciate how they are marked, there's always a good chance your prediction will be incorrect! There are so many ares where you feel you cold have done better, so many topics which you wish you had revised more. And yet ( look at the top of this page ) "How can it be - I've scored 87%" and just above this post "geez, so many people who expected to fail actually passed ( inc myself ), unbelievable"
DO NOT TRY TO PREDICT YOUR RESULT IN AN ACCA EXAM!!!!

I passed with 62 first attempt. I don't actually know HOW. I thought I'd failed badly.

Yipiii, I passed F5, incredible!. 50 is good enough for me.
Ddiane14y ago#69
I still can't get on to get my results been trying for 13 hours with no success and still no text as request - very stressed (even though I know I failed f5 I need my results) .... Going maddddd :(
Former userFormer user14y ago#70
I still did not understand how I got 63%....whaooooo. Praise God
Former userFormer user14y ago#71
Passed with 50%, don't know how. Thought I had failed also
Former userFormer user14y ago#72
something unintelligible... may be a vast amount of negative comments influenced the examiner and he adjusted the marking scheme...
i got 75%, whereas i was planning to resit it in Dec, no matter how strange the exam was it's anyhow fine, as if the ACCA was easy to get then it would lose its value.

I was so concerned that I had failed F5 after being unable to complete the 10 mark trends question and making many many mistakes on other questions. It was also the first time I've sat 2 exams at the same time, so added pressure for me as I study from home using the BPP textbook and practice kit.

However I passed both F5 and F8 with 87% - my highest percentage to date.

Since 5am this morning I have therefore been genuinely concerned that it's a mistake, for example that someone had perhaps typed my F8 result into the system in error or had done something incorrect with my marks on the system. I even told my boss that!

However I have now read the comments on the forum and it seems that many of us are in the same bizarre position! So the ACCA must have done something with the mark scheme, as this was my worst exam to date in terms of mistakes made etc (out of 8 exams) and in my eyes 87% is near impossible following my performance!

All I can say is that if it is correct then the ACCA have been very fair, as I put so much effort into studying but didn't think it had shown at all on this paper due to the questions set!

Former userFormer user14y ago#79
87% for F5!

Very happy with this result... Bringing my total average for the first 9 exams (foundation & skills) to 75% with first-time passes for all of them. Awesome.

Thank you and you too! I never have much confidence with these things so immediately thought it's a mistake and told everyone that! Guess I should order my next textbooks now! ........

i still can't believe i passed F5 !!!
Aali11114y ago#85
I got 85% in F5 !
Former userFormer user14y ago#86
passed f5 with 79 marks...unbelievable....what i thought was a fail has turned other way round...still shocked
Former userFormer user14y ago#87
right this is really bizarre as i was expecting to get a mark around 30% based on my performance so a genuine fail but I got 48% no idea how and am now gutted i missed out by 2 marks.
Really surprised to read so many people passed as the acca must have definately jigged the marks. If i go for an admin review what are the chances they will turn my score into a pass? what do you guys think?
Former userFormer user14y ago#88
I have done 2 full and 2 half questions which totalling 62 marks only..... and with uncertainty answers what can i expect from this, i never think of i will pass it. OMG!!!! Surprisingly and really, really unbelievable, i have passed it for 1st attempt. Although this is the lowest marks i ever got from my exam but my feelings of happinest is really just couldn't be explained by words. Thanks OT!!!
Former userFormer user14y ago#89
