Hello,
This may have already been addressed on this forum, but I can't find any posts pertaining to this question.
For Example 4 in the Inheritance Tax Chapter, why is Taper relief applied to the CLT? It was my understanding that Taper relief was only available to PETs - can some please clarify whether this is an error in the answers/lectures, or whether Taper relief is available to CLTs?
Thanks,
Monique

TXInheritance Tax - Taper Relief (Example 4)
Welcome to the Opentuition forums. I have not seen the video. However, taper relief can be applied to CLTs in certain circumstances. Most commonly on the additional tax due on death. It is not applied on the immediate lifetime charge.
I would suggest you also ask the Tutor on the relevant ask the tutor forum-
