After narrowing missing out on a pass in both J14 and D14 I’m in need of your advice.
I have all the syllabus areas in my grip and preparing for a pass this time around and was hoping you could lend me some advice?
Also I need advice on how to manage time properly during the exam? How to write faster and complete the full 100 marks exams.
Not completing the full 100 marks both times has majorly been the issue.Thank you for all that is you’re doing Mr Moffat. 🙂
April 12, 2015 at 10:47 am #240998Firstly, do not expect to finish the exam – it is almost impossible in the time, however well you might know the topics.
You need 50% to pass and so you should be aiming for at least 50% in every part of every question. There are always a fair number of reasonably easy marks that you can get fairly quickly and it is important to be getting these before spending lots of time on the harder bits.
Given that there are 180 minutes for 100 marks, you should allocate 1.8 minutes per mark. So, for example, you should spend no more that 80 minutes on question 1. Don’t expect to have finished it (leave a blank page so that you can come back to it if you have time left at the end) but aim to have got at least 50%. Once you have got 50% then from then on it is more of bonus marks 🙂
