Hello my name is Juan Antonio and I registered this week at OT. I´m from Spain but I have come UK to live and I would like to start to study ACCA.
I want to begin with FIA syuding at home and then I have download the notes for FA1, MA1, FA2, MA2, FAB, FMA and FFA ¿are these notes enough to learn all you need to pass the 7 exams? or ¿is necessary to buy the books in BPP, Kaplan, etc?, ¿are these course notes updated if I decide to exam between December and first months of next year?, I have thought to do the CBE´s exams then ¿can I do the exams at anytime during the year?
As you can see I have lots of doubts and I would very grateful if somebody answer and advise me about the best way to start to study FIA. All your advises will be well received.
Thank you very much
September 18, 2014 at 5:39 pm #195420For FA1, MA1, FA2, and MA2, the notes on there contain all you need to be able to pass the exams.
For FAB, FMA, FFA, you should use the notes on here together with the free lectures that go with them. Although that will give you enough knowledge to pass the exams, it is vital for these three that you also practice lots of questions. For this you must get Revision/Exam Kits from one of the approved publishers – these contain lots of exam standard questions to practice on.
Our course notes are updated every six months (although obviously it is only relevant if the ACCA make changed to the syllabus).
If you are taking computer exams, then you can take them whenever you want (subject to making an appointment with the CBE centre).
Before you do anything, you do need to register as a student with the ACCA. You can do this on the ACCA website – http://www.accaglobal.com
September 18, 2014 at 6:59 pm #195431Thank you very much John for your attention.
Then I´m going to start with these first 4 subjects and could you recommend me the best Revision/Exam Kits and where buying them (if it´s possible)?
Lots of thanks again
September 19, 2014 at 5:19 pm #195562You should get the Revision/ Exam Kits from one of the ACCA approved publishers, which are BPP, Kaplan, and Becker.
All of them are very good – I cannot suggest one as being better than the others – it does not matter which you get.
As to where to get them from, I don’t know where you live 🙂
If you go to their websites (do a Google search to find them) then you will find that they do give a list of stockists. If there is not one in your country then you can either buy electronic versions online on their website, or you can order a printed version to be posted to you.

You should certainly be able to buy from bookshops in Hull (or if not, then close by).
Check on their websites for stockists as I wrote before.

While you a completing the online registration form, it will ask about whether you are applying for exemptions and will tell you what to do.
