Hi Mike. First time here. Taking F7 in March. And I’ve watched all the OT lectures, did the illustrations, and read study text, technical articles, and all standards related IAS plus articles. I felt great. Felt like I mastered the topics. And really, I think all of them are very easy. My favorite are Leases and financial instruments. Finished everything on January 29th. However, after that day, I tried to start practicing past papers. But whenever I would encounter a question that required additional time and thinking and multiple tries, I would get frustrated after some tries and then give up. Now it has changed into procrastination. My question is how do I get past that point? My main source of frustration is perfectionism. I want everything to be perfect at first try even though I know it’s just the start.

This has happened to me before and did a lot of sporadic study because of procrastination as a result of frustration, but somehow, I passed all exams until now but barely passed. I really need help as I’m sure I’m going to fail this exam if I don’t start practicing now.

    Thanks btw

“My main source of frustration is perfectionism. I want everything to be perfect at first try even though I know it’s just the start.” – you KNOW your weakness! When you come to something that you can’t do – don’t do it! Move on to the easy marks. You’re not going to score 100% in F7 – no-one EVER has. So cut that idea out of your thinking straight away

Pick up all the easy marks, don’t get bogged down in the difficult areas, score 80%+ and move on!
