Dear tutor
I have read ACCA materials about how to prepare the exam, however, when I tried one Kaplan question, I was completely lost and not sure how to answer the questions.
ACCA material suggests one or two sentences for 1 mark. but in Kaplan answer, it’s quite long and discussion is deep, the theory applied to the question is not just one but a few.
I understand kaplan answer could be as an example, but when it comes to an exam question, how to answer it? should I write theories in details? are the theories very important to mention and elaborate in the answer or as long as the answer referred to the scenario?

The ACCA wants you to produce professional answers that could go to your boss (or be used in a presentation or whatever the requirements are) and detailed explanations of theories is almost always inappropriate.
Concentrate on writing an answer from a common sense viewpoint, supporting or developing your answer using theories. Do not ignore theories as this is not a paper called ‘Strategic Common Sense’ and there are numerous theories in the syllabus you must be able to refer to, but poor answers concentrate too much on explaining theories rather than using them to solve the question.
