    ladyjudge,

i think it will be nice to have you come out a bit clearer. pls state what it is you want people to help you with. i passed paper f8 on second attempts & i can tell you; you’ve got to learn the skill require to tackle the paper.

what you need is guidance, but i like you to be specific.

    best wishes!

I assume (though I have no evidence) that you know the theory of auditing. If that is correct then your problem must be answer technique and style.

Most often the problem is that candidates answer questions purely theoretically without reference to the specific situations described in the scenarios.

You have to look very carefully at the ACCA model answers and think about whether your answers (difficult, I know, to remember now) properly addressed the scenario.

The second major failing is not to answer in enough detail. You have to make each point crystal clear. Think about describing what should be done/considered to a 16 year-old who is looking for a couple of weeks work experience. There is no point telling that person to, for example, “Check the invoices”. You have to be specific. For example: select 20 invoices and inspect each one to ensure that it has been properly authorised.
