    Greetings,

I have heard that you can give LW as a CBE paper, on-demand. How long will it take to prepare for the exam? Also, if there is anything more that I should know, please let me know.

    Regards

    Vivek J

You have heard correctly – by negotiation between you and a CBE centre

Anything else you need to know?

    1) Don’t buy a study text

    2) Watch the videos, at least twice

    3) Read the course notes (just READ, don’t try to learn / memorise) at least once per week (2 hours from start to finish)

    4) Buy an exam kit / revision kit from one of the approved publishers (20% discount available if you order through OpenTuition)

    5) Spend hours and hours and hours going through the hundreds of questions in that revision kit (Hint – don’t write your answers in the book itself! Write yout answers on a separate piece of paper. That way you can keep coming back to those same questions multiple times

    6) When you hit a brick wall and fail to understand a question or an answer, post your query on the Law Paper Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you

How long will it take to prepare for the exam? I can’t answer that! The time needed depends entirely on matters within your control. Family, social life, work demands, motivation, ability to absorb the subject matter …

    How could I answer that?

IF you have no distractions and IF you spend, say, 4 hours per day for 4 weeks, then that COULD be enough … but it might not be!

    OK?

On the above comment, why do you suggest not purchasing the study text? Do you feel that the Open Tuition notes are enough to pass the exam?

I ask as I have just started to study for this exam, and I am reading through the study text and finding it really hard going, it is very dense and detailed, and very time consuming to get through.

Your second paragraph answers the question in your first sentence!

    “Are the OpenTuition notes enough?”

    No!

You need also to watch the videos and, crucially, (this is REALLY important!) you need to buy a decision kit from one of the recognised publishers

If you select BPP as your recognised publisher, you can take advantage of the 20% discount available by clicking on the yellow box on this page and following the instructions

Finally, whenever you hit a brick wall in your studies, post your question on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you

    OK?
