What is the latest date that a public company, incorporated on 1 May 2010, could hold its first annual general meeting? a) 31 October,2011 b) there is no limit for a company's first annual general meeting c) 31 December,2010 d) 31 July,2011 ANS- A Good day sir, I thought the first annual general meeting had to be held 6 months after incorporation or a maximum of 9 months since it is the first AGM.I don't understand why the answer is A. I'll appreciate if you can explain better.

If you want to ask the tutor something directly, please use the ask the tutor forum as this forum is primarily designed for students to help one another- https://opentuition.com/forum/ask-acca-tutor-forums/ask-the-tutor-acca-lw-exams/ Since you are here, I will offer you the thought (spoiler) that you are thinking along the right lines with the six month time period for a plc, however, incorporation is not the relevant date. Hope this helps.
