    John if i use the method you used In your lectures for calculating gain or loss on interest rate futures which are:
    Opening futures minus closing futures divided by 400 into number of contracts into contract size am i going to get full marks or i will required by examiner to say why i am dividing by 400.

    And i find the premium cost by dividing the premium by 400 and multiplying by contract size and into number of contracts is it necessary to exPlain why i am dividing by 400.

    You do not need to say why you divide by 400 – it is the normal rule.
