Hello OT.
Thanks for your support with our ACCA. it is highly apperciated.
My question is concerned with the marking and financial analysis.
The case study usually carries financial analysis. Can we use heading and sentence to answer it?Linking this question to the first , For a 15 markers question does it need 15 heading and sentences?
Thanks
December 13, 2010 at 10:51 am #74519It’s not as simple as that. For example, question awarding 16 marks for the identification and evaluation of opportunities and threats would probably give one mark for identification and one for evaluation of its effect on the business.
If the question specifically asks for a financial analysis, I would have a separate heading for that to show the examiner where it is in your answer. Even if not specifically required, you would still be expected to make use of the financial and quantitative data in a strategic analysis. There’s nothing wrong with integrating that with the rest of you answer. For example, if you are told that a new, powerful competitor has recently entered the market, and you see that the GP% has started to fall, you could link those in one para about competition and its effect.
