    Hi all,

    I’m currently studying towards the Diploma in Accounting via the Foundations route (unfortunately I didn’t meet the minimum criteria for direct entry to ACCA). I was wondering if there is a strict route I need to follow with the exams, i.e. take FA1 before FA2, MA1 and MA2 or if I can mix them? Also do I need to complete these four papers before being able to sit the FAB, FMA and FFA exam?

    Thanks in advance!
    Melanie

    There is no strict route for the exams.

    You can take the Diploma papers (FAB, FMA, and FFA) without having taken the previous 4 exams. If you pass these then you will get the Diploma and if you want you can then carry on with the full ACCA Qualification, or you can go for the CAT Qualification. It is only if you decide to go for the CAT Qualification that you would then need to go back and take the first four exams.

    If you find FAB, FMA, and FFA terribly difficult (I do not think you will – they are not too bad) then it might be worthwhile studying the earlier papers because they will help you. However, the earlier papers are not a requirement unless you wish to get the CAT qualification.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your detailed response, that’s great to know!

    I’ll probably finish FA1 and MA1 which I already started, it’s actually quite good as a refresher and then move straight on to ACCA.

    Cheers,
    Melanie

    Hi,

    Does that mean I don’t have to write in FA, MA(1+2) if I pass FBT, FFA, and FMA?
    Will they transfer me to ACCA after passing these three exams?

    Please answer me I really need the answer.

    Thanks.

    The following page should help answer your questions-

    Hope this helps.

    My understanding is full course completion results in exemptions from first three ACCA papers. Don’t believe partial completion does but I would contact ACCA directly to find out this information.

    @durawilson40 – welcome to our forums – but you would have better to make NEW posts so you can tailor your subject line to your question (this is more likely to get a prompt response)

    Test practice can be purchased directly from ACCA https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/student/exam-support-resources/practice-tests.html

    @durawilson40
    See here re ondemand exams: https://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/about-our-exams/on-demand-exams.html

    Go “find a centre” https://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/about-our-exams/centre-exams/on-demand-centre-exams.html

    First check out availability https://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/enter-an-exam/exam-availability-and-booking.html

    If you put in USA, you will see a link to “Book a remote exam” … there do not appear to be any test centres in the USA at this time for ondemand exams.

    @sypher welcome to our forums!

    Short answer yes ….

    See here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/qualifications/glance/foundation-level/course-details.html … you are looking at RQF Level 4 .. don’t forget you MUST complete the foundations in professionalism module also.
