    Hello everyone,

I failed in 9 areas out of 11, which was to be honest not a surprise as I couldn’t work on my rap for more than 5 days in total due to some personal reasons. However, my concern here is that is it a good idea to resubmit my last rap with improvements as moderator comments were very generic or is it better to submit an entirely new project with a different topic or organisations.

Any help and insight on this is highly appreciated!

In fact as there are only 9 assessment criteria you will find that you have failed 7 rather than 9 (2 points are summary e.g. one relates to the overall fail for the report and the other to a fail for what is called the SLS but includes the actual statement and Presentation ).

Your question falls into the category ‘how long is a piece of string?’ In other words how serious was the fail for each section. The first 3 criteria are usually the most critical in deciding whether to continue with the existing topic. Also ask yourself did you feel comfortable / enjoy the topic? If the answer is ‘No’ then definitely it may be better for you to choose something different. If yes, then analyse the feedback and consider how easy it would be to remedy. Changing mentor may be a good idea – not all mentors at pre equal – some are poor and some are excellent – basically you get what you pay for and investing in a decent one can save you heartache and hassle – but be aware of the unscrupulous who will offer to write the report for you – as that is cheating and May end up with a referral to the Academic Conduct Office.
