In the Examinable Documents for F8 (International), the following was mentioned:
“The accounting knowledge that is assumed for Paper F8 is the same as that examined in Paper
F3. Therefore, candidates studying for Paper F8 should refer to the Accounting Standards listed
    under Paper F3.”

In the Syllabus diagram, I noticed an indirect link between F7 to F8.

I have three (3) more papers, namely F7, F8 and F9 in order to complete the ACCA Skills module.
I am currently awaiting results for F5 and F6.
I am planning to write F8 in June 2014 and the remainders (F7, F9) in December 2014.

Why is there an indirect link between F7 and F8 when the assumed accounting knowledge is from F3 and not F7?

Would it be a problem to do F8 without first studying for F7 although the assumed accounting knowledge is from F3?

Could I be examined on something from F7 in the F8 exam?

What would the examiner really test from F3 in F8? Do I need to review how to prepare financial statements etc?

    Thank you!

Doing F8 without attempting F3/F7 is absolutely ok. However you need to have some general knowledge about financial accounting. e.g. land is not depreciated, what are receivables, what is cash flow and so on.

Assumed accounting knowledge from F3 i would definitely recommend doing F8 without F7 if you wish so.
Personally I attempted F8 without F3/F7 – yet waiting for results.
