F7 December 2015

Hi Mike (just realised you do F7 as well as F6) I am aiming to sit F7 in December. I am able to get some books that were published in 2014. Are these suitable or have there been updates which mean I need to get the current editions?

Hi Chloe Whatever makes you think that I do F6? The 2014 material for F7 that you have acquired is substantially fine for your needs so far as a study text is concerned. It is important though that you get hold of an up to date revision kit / exam kit. The only major change that I can remember since 2014 is the inclusion of IAS 41 (Agriculture) and the inclusion of IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition. The issue of the IFRS has also resulted in the scrapping of IAS 11 Construction Contracts and IAS 18 Revenue Ok?

Oh sorry! F4! I've just started on F6 as well, my mistake. This is very good information and thanks for coming back to me so quickly as I can obtain that F7 study text for free from someone tomorrow. Cheers

Hi Mike, I'm sitting for ACCA for the first time. I was exempted F1-3 and going to sit for F7 & 8 this Dec. Would you be able to advise me on what materials I would require outside of the Course notes, lecture notes and past exam material available on Opentuition? I'm studying by myself working full time and would really appreciate any advise you might have on getting started. Thank you!

You will certainly need a revision kit / exam kit from a reputable publisher (Kaplan or BPP for example) and access to the internet The revision kit is full of past exam questions (adapted for the new format on the exams) and lots of multiple choice questions. These you MUST practice! The Internet access is so that you can look up any topic that is mentioned in lectures but that you feel like you would want greater, in depth, information You have access to us and that's, obviously, free so together with revision kits and the courses notes and lectures on this site you're good to go! Ok?
