I am trying to prepare for Dec F5 exam and find it really frustrating. I am half way through my studying, I’ve watched all lectures here and been through tests and practice questions here and in Kaplan text book, and although I do seem to get a concept of what I’m doing and do understand lectures and text, when comes to revision of what I’ve already done, I simply forget how to approach the question and usually get it wrong and have to look at the answer to try and understand the question again.
Anyone else finding this paper very difficult to study? I passed paper F6 in June and didn’t seem to have such problems with studying, revision etc. Is F5 really that difficult or is it just me not being able to prepare?

I have the same problem – I read but do not understand the logic of th calculations. May be because I always had the problem with math both at school and Univrsity

I also have the same problem… A friend suggested i solve a lot of questions. Students with good background in Maths usually find F5 easy to understand.

Well dear …most of the students only focus on practisng a lot of question with out a clear concept and with out a approach..this is the reason the problem u people are facing..practic less question but with a approach would b great..and moreover this is totaly wrong to say that to learn f5 u would have to good at mathemetics..actually u people face the problem that how to start the question..do practice dear but with a good approach

Hi guys! im also appearing for F5 and i thought i should share some of my personal experiences while studying this paper

    1) first practice is always tough
    2) more practice means more perfection
    3) see how the examiner solves past papers also the open tuition lectures are extremely helpful
    4) have faith in urself. you will definitely start getting all the answers right after some practice 🙂
    5) and finally remember, we will NEVER get each and every answer right. so keep up the spirit and go for it!!

All the best to all of us!!!! 😀

    Hi Guys,

What is predicted to come up in the December paper. I have pretty much covered the whole syllabus.

Going through exam questions but I’d like an idea on some topics to be well prepared for.
