    Hi ,
I would like to get some motivation on F5, currently self studying the subject. My first sitting was 35%, I feel very disappointed & have no motivation to continue. Do you have any tips for me ?

    Thanks

I don’t know how you studied last time or how you are studying this time.

However there are two main things.

The first is obviously the studying (and I do suggest that you watch my free lectures (using the free lecture notes that go with them) because they cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well). Appreciate that only 50% of the exam will involve calculations (and the other 50% will be theory), so it is vital to make sure that you understand properly all the topics and that you are not simply trying to learn rules.

The second is practice. It is absolutely vital and although we have free online tests and a free mock exam, that is not enough. You must buy a current edition of a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers. They have lots of exam standard questions to practice on, and you should attempt them without looking at the answers until after you have tried yourself (and then learn from whatever mistakes you make).

Make sure that it is a current edition of the Revision Kit, because the format of the exam has now changed and the current editions have questions in the new format (there are more MCQ’s and fewer long-form questions).

Finally, if there is anything that you are not sure about from the lectures, or that you are not clear about when checking your answers to questions in the Revision Kit, then do ask in this forum and I will try and help.
