Wasn’t the sampling one cluster? Because it may be biased as it was written that any first people in age group so and so.it may be a biased attempt. What say?

and yeah one more. the answer for variable cost per unit whep there was a step up on fixed cost? the answer is still $3.00 right?
December 14, 2011 at 7:07 pm #92119@anisasri i don’t remember whether $19000 was actual or absorbed but anwae VOAR= 2 i.e. (20000/10000) so if 19k is actual then the hours would be (19000+3000)/2 which is 11000 but if it were absorbed then it would be (19000-3000)/2 which is 8000. does anybody agree? how could i figure this now…. 🙁

I just thought quota as it said they needed certain number in each group so they know how many of each type is needed. Can’t remember question totally though so could be cluster but I thought that was breaking it down into groups and then again and then interview all in that group not just first ones. Never mind see what February holds, not holding breath for a pass
The ordering cost one baffled me
December 14, 2011 at 7:18 pm #92121ordering cost i put 15 as in 10 to place an order and 5 variable purchasing cost, stepped cost i would say 2.67 or 2.777 i don’t remember the one with a lot of 7’s because you had to subtract the step cost from the higher b4 you divide.

yeah i had 15 too. any other question? do you people remember theory questions?
December 14, 2011 at 7:57 pm #92123the new FMA feels like F5 and F3 mixed in one bottle. i noticed a trend in the exams ACCA wants us to familiarise with the new topics because they know everyone already knows the old stuff so if the new staff is in the exams we will read about it and talk about so 2@ the end of the day we will know it.

@lewist
You may be right. But you have to care for the 10000-9000, which is 1000 left. Normally when there is under absorption, lower of the hours are worked. but in the question, over means more hours that what I got. So, 1000/2 gets 500 needs to be added to 11000. This was my mind blasting in the exam but again confused as I could not find the example of these type of questions. Yes I put the 15 as well for ordering cost. I put A for the formula in F8= F2+F6-F4 I think. Adverse results lowers the profit. but it was required more information to be given like sales, actual cost then the real profit can be ascertained properly. Theory question I put 1 and 3 for the information related to management accounting. it was tricky enough. It can contain other information as well. if you remember others you can share.December 15, 2011 at 9:28 am #92128AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

i got it wrong, i put 1.67, that is i used the highest activityDecember 16, 2011 at 6:44 am #92130AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

@fayeez no, man, 1.67 is right. because high-low method is based on volume of output rather than cost, so should be A1.67.
for D 3, it is based on cost, it is not right according to F2 textbook page 324 of bpp

It is 3 whatever the way you calculate but make sure deduct the 5000 setup cost when activity exceeds after some activity. I have tested by not only by 9000 but others as well. Anyhow, what was the answer for cost apportionment given as algebraic way. Was it A or C?

No doubt, this time, results statistics will change due to unexpected pattern of papers. I came to know even the tutors amazed too though expecting more on new topics but didn’t know the reverse engineering approach. Hope ACCA may show some leniency in marking.
