Hi all,
I am new to OpenTuition so please forgive me if this is posted elsewhere! I haven’t joined ACCA yet but plan to in the new year after setting up my study plans and budgets. I am unfortunate enough to live in a rural area and my nearest exam centre is 4 hours by train (meaning an overnight stay as well). I am looking for advice as to the order of the exams as I had planned to do them F4-F9 in order, but looking at previous exam timetables it means a day in-between exams and therefore either 2 very long journeys there and back within a week or a long stay over, both of which mean almost a week off work for 2 exams! Instead, if its feasible I could take exams on consecutive days to reduce travel and accommodation. Do you think that’s a option based on your experiences or would it be best to stick to them ‘in order’?
Thanks in advance!
AdeleAugust 13, 2019 at 2:45 pm #527352Hi
I picked my exams based on when I could fit study days around work coming in (went to a learning provider) and this worked out that all of my exams so far have been on consecutive days (PM & FR, TX & AA, FM & SBR) and have managed to passed them. The exam centres close to where I live closed so I have to travel a while for an exam – I tended to do a PM exam the 1st day the AM exam the next day which I feel worked well as I had the evening in between to revise.
The order ACCA put the exams in is so the consecutive exams feed off information learnt in the first one (i.e AA feeds off knowledge learnt in FR).
Hope this helped.

Yes thats helped a lot! Do you get to pick AM/PM slots or was that just how it worked out? Without registering I can’t get a lot of info, but I’m not doing that until I’m a bit more prepared!
August 13, 2019 at 4:07 pm #527371Yes, when you book your exams you pick the exam centre and whether you want AM or PM – obviously depending on how full they are at the time you book you may only be left with one option.
August 13, 2019 at 4:55 pm #527377Ah thank you 🙂 In that short space of time from my last post I am now considering taking 1 exam at a time every 3 months – less chance for confusion I guess, and easier factoring in the exam timetables!
Thanks again!
