Hi sir,
I hope you are safe and sound.My email to ACCA :
Hello!
I am an ACCA student from Afghanistan.
Will ACCA resume its operations in Afghanistan after the end of Sep Session? If not, I have to move to another country to complete my ACCA Journey. Can you please tell me whether or not ACCA will allow us to take exams in Dec Session? or has ACCA thoroughly stopped it’s Services in Afghanistan?_____________________________
Their reply :
Hello Muhammadullah,
Thanks for contacting us.
I hope you are safe and well during these unprecedented times we are currently facing.
We have assessed the currently situation in Afghanistan and although we still do not deem it safe to host exams in exams centres for our coming December 2021 session I can confirm that we are providing a remote option for students in your location.
I have enabled the option for you to book the ‘at home’ based option through your exam planner, this should be available for you to book in 24/48 hours.
For you to choose to sit exam(s) by remote invigilation, we’ve had to cancel all existing centre-based exams in your planner. This then gives you the opportunity to choose to rebook to sit by remote invigilation.
If you choose not to sit a remotely invigilated exam, the exam credit will remain in your myACCA to be used at a later date.
If you would like to continue with a remotely invigilated exam, please follow the instructions below:
Log in to myACCA
On the left select My qualification (if using a mobile device select Menu from the top left corner).
Under Exams click on the red Book an exam button.
The exam entry planner should now open, click Add an exam.
On the following page you will see session dates, in the bar above exam session choices, underneath Availability, you’ll have 2 options: Choose location and At Home. Please select At Home.
The next available exam session will be automatically set. Select an exam variant, if applicable, by selecting it from the Choose a version menu
Click Add to your Plan.
If you’ve chosen a session remote invigilation exam, you’ll now be required to Confirm Availability which can be found to the right of your exam plan.
You will be asked to confirm the Terms and conditions for the remote exam. Please ensure that you read them carefully and agree to them. Here you will also be asked about facial recognition. Please tick an option and proceed to the next page.
You’ll be able to select a preferred timeslot for your exam within a specific timeslot window based on your location. Timeslots are subject to availability and depending on your location you may be presented with one or more timezone windows. Timeslot windows are represented by F1, F2, F3 and F4. Options during the booking process. These timeslots represent the following windows:
F1 = 2:00 to 5:45 BST (1:00 to 4:45 GMT)
F2 = 6:00 to 10:15 BST (5:00 to 9:15 GMT)
F3 = 10:30 to 14:45 BST (9:30 to 13:45 GMT)
F4 =15:00 to 18:15 BST (14:00 to 17:15 GMT)
Please click on your preferred time slot; the time you choose is not guaranteed.
You’ll then be asked to read further Terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and agree to them.
Please click Next after checking you’ve selected the correct exam to be booked.
You’ll then be taken to Confirm Availability to book your exam slot. The times listed will be what available time slots are remaining. It’s important to note that the later you chose to book the less desirable time slots will be the ones available.
Once you’ve selected your time slot you’ll be asked to confirm your booking.
Please continue through the planner until you have selected Finish and your exam is booked.
Within 48 hours, you’ll receive an email confirming your exam entry.Important system checks
In the location that you plan to sit your exam(s) you must run the Pearson VUE system check. Details are outlined in the Pearson VUE website The system will check both the computer and the internet connection and we need to ensure there are no firewalls that could impact your connection. Please also review the OnVUE Technical requirements, accessed under Additional Requirements and be aware that you will need to share this with the appropriate IT Department when using a work/shared laptop or computer. Please note that Windows 8 is not compatible with our exam software.View minimum requirements.The two most frequent causes of technical issues with online proctored exams are testing on
a work computer
an unreliable internet connection. Firewalls or security settings from work computers may restrict the software from operating properly. Unreliable internet connections (wireless network, VPN, mobile hotspot) may lead to being disconnected.
Please contact Pearson VUE if you have any issues with your system test. ACCA Connect cannot assist with any system test technical issues.Additional useful resources

I don’t understand the above email well, but I want you to tell me that
Will we be able to take exams in Dec in ALP Centers of Afghanistan ?
November 3, 2021 at 12:00 pm #639838Well, it’s great that you should be able to sit your exam in December….assuming the technical requirements for the remote exam can be met OK.
It’s a good, detailed email from ACCA setting out all the steps you will need to take.
November 4, 2021 at 7:11 am #639887Hello Muhammadullah – in the opening paragraph of the email it says:
“we are providing a REMOTE option for students in your location” as ACCA does not deem it safe to have exams in centres. So if you have booked to sit any exams in centres, the email says that these will be cancelled – and your account will be credited with the exam fees. Then following the instructions, you can book to sit your exam at home – or the home of a family member/friend – somewhere that meets the requirements for sitting remotely.
See here for everything you need to know (which also covers the instructions in the email)
https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/remote-session-exams.htmlYou must do the “Before you book” checks BEFORE you book. So if, for example, it is not possible to find a room where you will have a stable internet connection, you will sadly not be able to sit the exams remotely.
November 19, 2021 at 4:36 pm #641091Thank you so much!
Sadly, There isn’t a reliable internet in Afghanistan. I, including majority students, may not be able to take invigilated exam. The only way is to leave Afg. I have been trying to get passport for so many days, but I can’t. There are a lot of people trying to get passports and Taliban give passports only to serious patients and previously registered Applicants. They don’t give passports to new applicants.
I can neither study here nor leave this country coz of Passports.
Don’t know what to do. I have lost my way.
November 22, 2021 at 10:04 am #641298We are all greatly saddened by what is happening and I am sorry that we cannot provide any real help. ACCA is of course aware that the remote option may not be a real option, but there is nothing that can be done to change this. Our and ACCA’s resources are available whenever you can access them but I know that is poor comfort when you have no timeframe. My thoughts are most sincerely with you. Kim
November 24, 2021 at 9:35 am #641459Muhammadi, I would also like to offer you my best wishes. I believe as well as internet access, electrical power is unreliable in your country. I don’t wish to get too political, since this is literally not the forum for such discourse, but I do find it astounding that trillions have been spent “nation building” but no reliable electrical supply nor internet access seems to exist even in main cities of Afghanistan. Anyway, please keep in touch with the forums when you can and keep your hopes and dreams alive. Also please keep safe and well.
February 12, 2022 at 3:51 pm #648530Thanks Sir Kim Smith and Mr.Jonbain
for helping me stay positive and motivated. I thank you for your sympathy and affection.I wish both of you happiness and prosperity.
Yes Mr. jonbain, it really is astounding.
I am still trying to leave the country.
February 13, 2022 at 2:37 am #648536Muhammadi, glad to hear from you again. Thank you for your kind sentiments. I would also wish you happiness and prosperity and good luck with your quest to leave the country. Hoping enough people willing to work together for a stable, peaceful and healthy world. Please keep in touch when you can.
May 7, 2022 at 7:33 pm #655129Hello,
I wanted to take RI exam from home.The problem is when I clicked on ( add an exam) and selected (Remote) option, I couldn’t find FA1, FA2, MA1, FFA basic papers’ exams. There were only 3 exams (FAU, FTX, FFM). I wanted to take FA2 exam, but there was no FA2 exam in remote options.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
May 10, 2022 at 1:59 pm #655325Apologies for the delay in responding to your query.
The only exams you can book directly with ACCA (through myACCA) are “session” exams.
FA2 is an on-demand exam: https://www.accaglobal.com/us/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/about-our-exams/on-demand-exams.html
Information about remote on-demand exams can be found here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/about-our-exams/remote-exams/on-demand-remote-exams.html
Unfortunately no exams are currently available in Afghanistan.
I see here that Afghanistan has been added to the regional office for Turkey https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us/global-offices.html Perhaps if you contact that office directly they will be able to offer advice.
August 12, 2022 at 1:39 pm #662956I totally got what you said.
Thanks for your help!
January 18, 2023 at 12:25 pm #676784Hey Muhammadi, I don’t know how i ended up on this post but i’m so so sorry for whats happening to your country. You’re awesome for still pursuing your studies even in these testing times.
I live in Turkiye so if you need any help regarding exams booking, i’ll be happy to call the office on your behalf as its local to me and if you need any help with questions relating to studies, please do contact me. Im sure Mr Moffat and Mr little will help you out as well.
I would share my phone number but i don’t want strangers spamming me.
PS: I know many Afghan people who moved to Pakistan as they are actively accepting Afghani refugees. I don’t think you’ll need a passport for that. And once you’re in Pakistan you’ll be good to go as infrastructure in Pakistan for ACCA is quite extensive. I wish you best of luck!
