If we are asked to evaluate the performance of a company should we go deep into the details such as the reasons for the variances? We do that in analysis and i am wondering if we have to do the same in evaluation as well
May 18, 2023 at 7:22 am #684564Evaluation is primarily looking at pros/cons, good/bad, adopt/avoid. It is not primarily looking at causes.
Analysis looks more at reasons, causes and understanding.
I know some aspects of the two skills are close, but try to apply the emphasises above.
You will find more detailed guidance in the professional skills section of the Detailed Study Guide for SBL, but what I’ve written above is a more straightforward guide, I think.

Which book do you use in the lecture please, I don’t want to buy the wrong book to follow you ?THANKS
January 3, 2024 at 8:31 am #697638I don’t use a single text, book or other source.
The order and content of the chapters in a Kaplan or BPP text sheet unlikely to be the order in which I lecture. You can usually marry up chapters by looking at chapter titles.
For SBL I suggest you do not try to read a main stream text from cover to cover: too much information. This exam is very much problem solving and you must allow lots of time for question practice. Restricting yourself to our notes and lectures allows that.
Use a common sense approach first, back this up, where appropriate, with theory and then if necessary dip into a text book on a selective basis.
