    Hi Kim,

For question 1, I am having $46,719 however, its being marked as incorrect.

    I did the following:
    Y= -63,964.30+35243+6093.71+34008.669+35337.92

@sohanidevi – look through the posts on this thread which start here https://opentuition.com/topic/ethics-and-professional-skills-module-unit-7 and you will find all the information you need to complete the module (short of the answers themselves – that wouldn’t be ethical!)

    (63,964.58)
    150 35,243.50
    15000 6,093.71
    250000 283,405.58
    3.00 35,337.92
    Sum 296,116.13

I got the above for sales
    profit = Sales ticket – spent 46,116.13
    additional profit 46,116.13 – 16,719.22 = 29,396.91
but this is not the answer…
can pls guide where is wrong?

Your sum for additional revenue is wrong because there shouldn’t be a 250k in it (check what it should be). Additional revenue = additional profit (because there is no variable cost of sale) so it is the amount of investment that you need to deduct. This is all explained earlier in the thread if you look at my earlier posts (which start on this page https://opentuition.com/topic/ethics-and-professional-skills-module-unit-7).

    Hi Kim

Sorry if i am missing the obvious here but i tried this:

    =(-63965)+235*150+0*15000+1*30000+11779*3

is this also wrong? because it still shows as incorrect answer

    Thanks

*Edit – Got it in the end

Hi, I also have a problem with Unit 7 end of unit quiz.
    can you help please?
I tried the formula given but still got the answer wrong
    My formula is :
    =-63965+(150*235)+(15000*0)+(30000*1)+(3*11779)

i also tried it without rounding the x variables but it was the wrong answer also.
with regards to regression, i also tried adding the values it gave us in the question, 150, 150000, 30000 and 3 but i am not sure I should add them. Anyway, the answer was wrong too.

If you make the calculations in the spreadsheet WITHOUT roundings you should all have the correct answer. If you are rounding coefficients to 235, 0 and 1, that will introduce something like 10,000 of rounding difference!

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. I tried it without rounding and it gave me the wrong answer again 46719. Should i add the figures it gave us(150, 15000, 30000 and 3) to the table and redo the regression again?
    or am i missing something?

Liz – your calculation is with spend of $30k? Does the Q not ask for ADDITIONAL profit (= revenue in this case) with additional spend of $250k?

Hi Kim, Using the spreadsheet to do the calculation, I have re read the unit, worked the example, read your threads on the problem and still don’t know how I can have identified the wrong variables or applied them incorrectly? There’s no rounding, I’ve done it within the spreadsheet, and I’m still incorrect?

Hmmmm @slb1979 and @ABDIRABMAN – if this is the Q which asks for “predicted ticket sales with the following data” according to my historic information you are deriving the correct answer. If you are inputting it in the specified format (no , separator or decimal points) you should be correct. I am wondering if there is something wrong in the module since it was recently changed (as so many people seem to not be able to get it correct now). I think you need to contact ACCA directly https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html

Although I have access to the module I don’t have time to go through it in entirety to get to the end and see if I can replicate the issue.

Dear Kim, I can’t neither get my head around the Q1 in Unit 7. I revisited the whole thread and the tutorial example but still have an issue here.

I tried the calculation both with rounding (Y=-63965+235*X1+0*X2+1*X3+11779*X4) and without rounding (Y=-63964,5762…+234,9566…*X1+0,4062…*X2+1,1336…*X3+11779,3077…*X4) and it gave in both cases the wrong answer again (36622 or 46719).

The variables are simply derived from the task as follows:
    X1 – Distance from Capital City = 150
    X2 – Population per town = 15000
    X3 – Barrier spend = 30000
    X4 – Socio economic profile = 3

Could you please help? I would be very grateful for any hint which direction I should follow?

@nmisch – as I suggested to slb1979, please contact ACCA directly https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us – the more queries the relevant department receives, the more likely the matter will receive attention.
