Hi Everybody,
I am trying to find out more information about the Ethics and Professional Skills Module. Any clarifications would be welcome especially with regards to whether this module is done directly through ACCA and not through a tuition provider and also do ACCA also provide the study material.
Thank you
ACCA Ethics & Professional Skills Module
Ethics and Professional Skills Module
Any student need do only one ethics module - so completion of the old one means you do not need to complete the new one.
Hello, is it possible for me to take the epsm course during my semester break? before starting the strategic professional level.
@Fleurswan - absolutely - and highly recommended!
This is the landing page that will take you to resources, FAQs, etc https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/affiliates/completing-your-epsm.html
Good day,
I only have Financial Reporting left in my Applied Skill level which I am planning to go write in June 2021. Is it to early to buy the ethics and professional skill module? Should I wait until I pass my FR exam before attempting ethics and professional skill module?
Thanks
@jacquessb - see here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/help/faq-ethics.html
When should I complete EPSM?
The module will also support you to exam success at Strategic Professional. We therefore recommend you complete the module TOWARDS THE END of completing your Applied Skills exams and before attempting any Strategic Professional exams.
So no - it is not too early.
Hi. I was reading that from 1st on April EPSM is changing. Can I buy it now without changes and start it in a few months? (I still have PM (June), FM, AA, FR exams. Thanks
@dianalupu - as far as I am aware - no. I think your "myACCA" will show when it is available to you and I don't think that is yet. Because EPSM supports SP level exams it should be completed when you are at least ELIGIBLE to sit a SP level exam. You are not yet eligible for this because you still have four applies skills exams outstanding.

@ihsanullah - You’ll find some tips if you read through the posts on a relevant thread https://opentuition.com/topic/acca-ethics-and-professional-skills-module-unit-7-unit-8-2
I think you can decide for yourself once you take a look at the module. Depending where you are in your studies and your professional experience you may find the content of a module is a matter of commonsense and something you instinctively know - so no need for notes. I suggest it is worth taking notes for Module 7 - not only because this seems to be the only module that students have difficulty with (many try to skim it too quickly), but because data analytics continues to become increasingly relevant to the Strategic Professional Exam syllabuses.
Hello,
I am currently working through the module. Whilst doing the module I have been answering the questions with brief answers (almost bullet points). Is this marked by anyone? If yes, I will need to clarify my points for them to make more sense to the reader.
Thank you
@shaina - I'm sorry but I'm not clear what it is you are referring to. The assessments at the end of each unit and the final assessment are all automatically marked as MCQs or number-fill type questions. I don't know why you are writing answers. If you are referring to the peer assessment then in is only the requested slides that are submitted for review and feedback.
Hello,
Please can you advise if the ‘wordy’ questions in the PER module are marked/viewed by anyone. I have been writing my answers in brief bullet points but may need to re-write if they will be looked at by a third party.
Thank you
Sorry I dont think I was clear. During the module there have been a few questions with a requirement to write an answer and there is a word limit (2000 characters). Will those be marked by a third party? From the top of my head, one was to create a swot analysis and upload. Another was to write a tweet etc.
Thank you!
It would be helpful if you could specify which unit you are referring to. But to the best of my knowledge, this is a self-study module, and only the recently introduced peer review is "assessed".
Hello everyone, i would like to ask to those who have completed the epsm. Can we edit our answers back after we completed the epsm?
@Fleurswan - to what end? Once it's complete it's complete - though you can revisit it at any time.
@kimsmith Hello sir, there are some questions where we need to write answer in a paragraph and I was thinking if I could still edit my answers back once I completed the epsm and get the certificate. By the way sir, do ACCA check our epsm answers?
@Fleurswan - can you please tell me in which modules you write answers and I'll take a look. All the ones I have previously helped students with have simply been multiple choice/number fill types.
Unit 4 sir. Other units are mcqs. I almost completed epsm but I'm afraid my answers for unit 4 are not suitable.
These are just open-ended questions that you can think about. "Consider the ways YOU ...." i.e. there can be no right/wrong answers. The skills of Unit 4 are examined in SBL - they are not "examined" here.
Hi,
I have completed all the skills exams and I want to get my advanced diploma certificate urgently. So if I start EPSM immediately and passed it, will I be able to get my certificate immediately? And the results of EPSM will be received immediately right?
I can't say how "immediately" any of these stages are in the process. In particular it seems you cannot predict/rush the new "peer review" element of EPSM.
Hello Sir,
I've completed the EPSM module long before and I'm not required to pass it once more. However I wish to clarify if I pay for this module and pass it, will it help me to pass my last paper (SBL) in any way?
Thank you in advance.
Good question - but rather than incur additional cost you could just invest time in making sure you avail yourself of all the SBL-specific resources - for example:
https://www.accaglobal.com/an/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/strategic-business-leader/examiners-reports.html See here the link to "The importance of effective communication article"
And here - https://www.accaglobal.com/an/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/strategic-business-leader/sbl-professional-skills.html - professional skills video.
The most recent module in EPSM relates to data analytics - but you can keep abreast of that with technical articles https://www.accaglobal.com/an/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/strategic-business-leader/technical-articles.html (scroll down to syllabus area E).
Is the Foundations in Professionalism Module mandatory and how does this affect ACCA qualification?
@KIttyKatt - welcome to our forums. The short answer is "it doesn't" (affect the ACCA Qualification).
The FOUNDATIONS in Professionalism "FIP"
https://www.accaglobal.com/in/en/student/ethics/fip.html
is for students seeking the FOUNDATIONS Diploma
https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/qualifications/glance/foundation-level/foundation-diploma.html
The EPSM is a requirement for those sitting in exams in the ACCA Qualification https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/getting-started/acca-qualification-structure.html
Hello sir, I join ACCA for the Accelerate Programme, so I get the opportunity to skip the first nine papers and start my Strategy Professional Paper. Therefore, I would like to start my EPSM before I take SBL. However, I can't find any way for me to pay for EPSM module in my ACCA account. Hence, where should I go and pay for EPSM to enable me to start it?
@joey0214 welcome to OpenTuition
I'm sorry but I do not have any visibility of the mechanics of individual student's myACCA accounts for different schemes. I recommend that you contact ACCA directly with this enquiry https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us
And if you would like to post here how it is resolved (or on a new thread in this forum) I am sure that will assist future students on the programme.
okay, thanks sir
