1)IFAC is is responsible for promoting ethical educational standard. !!! (True or false)
2)all gifts and hospitality offered to a professional accountant by client pose an ethical threat and should be declined. ( Right or wrong)
July 29, 2017 at 11:16 am #3992641 The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants® (IESBA®) is an independent standard-setting body that serves the public interest by setting robust, internationally appropriate ethics standards, including auditor independence requirements, for professional accountants worldwide. These are compiled in the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants™. IESBA is part of IFAC.
2 From the Code of Ethics: The existence and significance of any threat will depend on the nature, value, and intent of the offer. Where gifts or hospitality are offered that a reasonable and informed third party, weighing all the specific facts and circumstances, would consider trivial and inconsequential, a professional accountant in public practice may conclude that the offer is made in the normal course of business without the specific intent to influence decision making or to obtain information. In such cases, the professional accountant in public practice may generally conclude that any threat to compliance with the fundamental principles is at an acceptable level.
