    hey all,
    Can someone advise me.
I Have been working with this person who has a consulting firm for three years as a trainee. After three years it time to approve my time spend in relevant accounting role with her firm, she starts behaving funnily.
On pushing hard and doing more investigation why she doesn’t want to approved my time, I came to realize that this lady has been using the word ACCA after her name giving me the impression that she was ACCA qualify. She even us this Letters on her official letters to customers. After some further investigations, I also realized that she never completed her study. She at F6 but currently using the letters ACCA after her name.
In the office I will come across some documents intended for governments departments. On those forms they will asked her to tip accrediting bodies ACCA is on the list but she never tip it but on correspondence to clients either for banking purposes she will use the letters ACCA after her name.
I see this as unethical as no one is allowed to use the ACCA letters after their name if not yet qualify.
I know I have to report to acca but what i am doubting is ACCA policy to protect whistle blowers.
Please advice as I have wasted three good years working with her and at the end my time in a relevant role might not even be approved.

This is indeed a sad case, which is why the letters mean so much. You are bound by ACCA ethical requirements to report her, so no doubt about what you have to do.

The ACCA will do their investigations into the matter. Your name should not come up in correspondence, so there is little to fear. I suggest you contact ACCA and speak to the relevant person.

In terms of your time spent, yes, it may have been wasted since there is no way to ascertain that you have gained the required skills and competences. I would advise you to seek a new job immediately. Unfortunately this will be as a part qualified accountant and you will have to reset your three years, so ensure it is with an employer who is ACCA approved.
