Thomasson Co has been asked to provide assistance with the design and implementation of the website and online sales system of Clean Co. The employees of Thomasson and CO may not be competent enough to provide such an assistance since its not their field of work. If so, this would result in incorrect assistance being provided for the implementation of the website and online sales system.
Can you provide a safeguard for this ?
I presume you are looking at D18 Q1 Redback Sports Co (please specify sources).
Generally, a professional accountant should not engage in work they are not sufficiently competent to do. i,e, no safeguard just don’t say you can do it if you cannot!
Of course, in relation to an audit, the auditor may, where appropriate, engage an expert – however, the auditor must have sufficient expertise to evaluate the expert’s findings, etc.
And please note that it would be helpful to your fellow students if you give posts more information in the title e.g. D18 Redback – competence safeguard
Then there will be key words for a search.
