The ACCA has a new article ‘Read the mind of an FR marker’ that you really should read.

You can find the article here: https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/fun/f7/Read_the_mind_of_FR_marker_WEB.pdf

Before reading the article, do work through questions 31 and 32 of the September/December 2017 exam, in order to get full benefit from the article. You can find the questions here:
    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f7/exampapers/int/f7-2017-sepdec-q.pdf

Please ask this in the Paper FR Ask the Tutor Forum, and our FR tutor will answer you.
(It is no longer called Paper F7 – it is now Paper FR).

Good day Mr. Moffat I am attending classes in my country at the moment for Financial Reporting and our lecturer told us not to use Opentuition or their resources because your courses’ contents are not monitored and sanctioned by ACCA.Could you shed some light on this? Now I personally used Opentuition for Level One lectures and I must say if it weren’t for you guys I would not have passed.

I have used Open Tuition for all my exams so far and I highly recommend it. For me it helps getting the basic understanding of the subject and helps me tackle the questions on exam kits (by the learning providers). I do self study with help of Open Tuition and practice questions on exam kit and so far I have passed in my first attempt. Good luck to you (and me 🙂 Im giving FR this Thursday)

What utter drivel from Nigel Flaveney’s tutor! These OpenTuition guys have years and years (some of them have >40 years’ experience in lecturing – many of them rising to CEO status and Directors of BPP / Kaplan subsidiaries)

When an error in their lectures or material is spotted, that error is usually corrected on a timely basis

Can you say the same for the material printed by “the approved material publishers”?

Trust me, these guys are on the ball and are specialists in their respective fields

What is truly amazing is that the entire team at OpenTuition GIVE their time and skills free

I continually am stunned at the generosity, knowledge and capabilities of all the members at OpenTuition and, when I qualify and can afford it, you can be certain that I shall be making a substantial donation to help OpenTuition continue to improve, update and expand their material and resources

Nigel, tell your tutor that s/he’s talking nonsense. OT’s been good for me so far and the lecturers are so clear in their explanations

    Hi Nigel,

A vast majority of us have used Opentuition. It has proved to be the lifeline that comes to our aid when we fail to understand the complexity of things stated in the respective Study Texts. That’s just my personal experience anyway. I sometimes feel they use too much jargon during elaboration.

I watch lectures on Opentuition. Then attempt Questions on the Study Text and Study Kit afterwards. It really helps!! I can assure you, you are in the right hands as long as you do what I mentioned in the latter.

Hope you enjoy your ACCA journey. All the best!!

Honestly that’s really a first I’ve NEVER EVER heard anyone not recommend Opentution to anyone pursuing this journey. I’m also planning to make my respective patronages once I qualify, possibly even become an alumni. haha!!

Anything to preserve the longevity of these kind peoples vision.

While going through all the lectures on Opentutuion as well as the revision kit, it is absolutely important to go through the Study Text from the learning providers too?
