hi John i wanted to ask there is a question in the bpp exam kit asking : in enviromental costing, the future cost of cleaning up operations for a product or activity may be classified as which of the following?
carbon footprint
contingent cost
hidden cost
relationship cost
which i dont understand
HI SIR PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE QUESTION
Sorry for not answering sooner – I was out of the country at the time and I obviously must have accidentally missed your question.
It is a contingent cost. That is because it is a future cost and the amount involved is not certain (it depends (i.e. is contingent) on how much cleaning up ends up being necessary).
Although BPP have put this question in their Revision Kit, I do not think it is actually askable in the exam in this form.
