hi guys Im confused.
actually when i read kaplan for f7 and after that emile woolf i find that emile woolf is much easier to understand and also there are many things in emle woolf which are not even present in kaplan. but also some sentences of kaplan are not present in emile woolf. what should I do? which book i should select for exam ? I like emile woolf but here in this forum some one wrote that kaplan are better than emile woolf….plz help im totally confusedAugust 6, 2012 at 2:32 pm #102461Get the book which helps you understand best. Each person has their own preference….mine was BPP. Just bear in mind though that BPP and Kaplan are the two approved publishers (not certain if they have added more since).
An approved publisher is one whom the examiners have reviewed the contents of the book and agree that it is in line with the syllabus.
August 6, 2012 at 3:11 pm #102462Hi people – I have just posted a similar post to shujaattt’s in the F9 forum.
Im currently mainly using Kaplan and Opentuition. I have today just heard of Emile Woolf. I checked their website and have sent a query email to them and the response was quite positive, the study notes are downloaded as an ebook for £ 4.99, and apparantly contain practice questions and answers.
My question was more related to anyone who has actually used these notes and what their opinions were.
The price of £ 4.99 is very attractive considering textbooks & delivery are usually around about £40-£50!! – But I dont want to sacrifice cost if I buy something and then find out in December exam that it only covers part of the syllabus.
Any advice from people who have used Emile Woolf greatly appreciated.(I am self studying at home with Study texts and Opentuition lectures)
ThanksAugust 6, 2012 at 3:19 pm #102463Ive just had a quick look at ACCA website – Emile Woolf is on the approved content list – but does not have quality assurance status.
August 6, 2012 at 4:53 pm #102464All day long today I compared emile woolf and kaplan a lot of times many topics. I have seen far difference in between them. In emile woolf things are well explained and easy to get. in kaplan some topics are covered in only 2-3 lines so that you can’t get the exact point but in emile woolf they are further properly explained each and every point. so what you guys say now?
August 7, 2012 at 2:51 pm #102465Ive been successful so far with Kaplan thats why I am a little reluctant to change, Its mainly a cost thing with me.
The only time I had a problem with kaplan was with F5, but to be fair I think it was Ann Irons setting a really nasty question. In June 2011 she asked a written question for 10 marks I think it was “discuss Balanced Scorecard”. When I checked back to my notes Kaplan had less than a half page of text about it. But that said I firmly believe as many do that Ann set an unfair question so its not really right to blame kaplan. (I managed to pass anyway so hopefully no more encounters with Ann Irons!)If Emile Woolf contains same or similar to Kaplan then Im willing to give it a try.
Ive heard you cant print the eBooks though – is this correct?
August 7, 2012 at 6:10 pm #102466i think emile woolf covers everything.
yes,you can print them ..there is no problem with printing as I printed 5 chapters of f7 today. But you can not resize or make some changes in the file(editing).
give me your email address so that I can give you a link from where you would download emile woolf books for me… I can not post that link here because admin would remove it as happened with me beforeSeptember 12, 2019 at 9:36 am #545924Hi Shujaattt,
I also prefer Emile to BPP/Kaplan. I ‘ll attemp AAA – P7 in December examination but can’t found any Emile ebook even the old version. Do you have it? Or could you please share me how to purchase the Emile ebook?
Thank you so much
September 12, 2019 at 5:16 pm #545954This topic is 7 years old and shujaattt has not posted since around that time, so I doubt you will get a response from them. However, a quick google suggests the Emile Woolf ebooks are available to purchase here, although I have not attempted to purchase them:
September 13, 2019 at 8:20 am #545994For anyone looking at this post EWI are NOT approved CONTENT providers – only BPP and Kaplan are https://www.accaglobal.com/us/en/student/tuition-study-options/additional-study-resources/approved-content.html
