Discrimination
P 102 of our notes gives a couple of examples.
Direct is if you specify male/female, black/white, old/young etc.
Indirect is where there is a condition that is more easily or commonly met by one group than another. For example, specifying a minimum height favours males; specifying English as a first language may, in some contexts, favour white British job applicants, yet if the need to speak English as your first language is not a legitimate requirement of the job then the condition has the effect of introducing indirect racial discrimination.
